I was a little reluctant to head up to Mission today given the forecast and temps, but was pleasantly surprised. Limited terrain still but moments of bliss.

Thermometer at my house says 38 right now.

Check out this plot. The temperature dropped close to 15 degrees in minutes.

Yeah, potential for some serious crust unless the precip keeps coming.

Decent conditions and some wind at Crustal. Bit of ice on wind exposed areas

Is 49 Degrees North relevant here or am I banished to the inland NW thread?

Very windy today, with a mix of death crust and nice fast groomers.

Also horrified to hear about pipedream’s arrest, hopefully he gets what he deserves.
Is he still out on bail?

If he is out it will be tough to shred wearing an electronic monitoring anklet.

Younger brother was up there this morning. Confirmed on the lines. A lot due to the wind holds before things got going.

A fundamental fecalfest furthering fecund festivities.

Snow was actually pretty good where it blew in: S and E faces with some dangercrust here and there but some nice dense soft in spots as well. N and W faces were windscraped. Northway opened relatively early and was pretty chundery (Paradise Bowl was scoured) so the liftline was nil compared to REX and Chinook. We played GV early, did a few laps on REX, saw the machinegreen in that lineup, then lurked around Northway in the paths orthogonal to most activity and found good snow. Was p00ped by 2:15, all lots still full when we rolled down at 3:00.

In the morning both Chinook and REX would run, then die, run then die, almost simultaneously like they had a main breaker blowing consistently. Score more management bonuses for Alterra!

There were definitely lift lines but not as bad as Thursday for me. We somehow got several early/first runs in GV, first into my favorite Northway run (which was mostly wind scoured and terrible) first into the main HC bowl (quite good) after a good 40 minute wait for the lift opening then back up again and first into Powder Bowl just as the fog cleared (fantastic) then booted up towards SB just as the gate opened. I dreamed of a nice Hourglass only to find it wind ripped down to the rain crust! We dropped into Appliances further down which saved the day. Overall the new snow was surprisingly good where not scoured but the ice crust did rear its head in places. More than anything I’m just shocked at our lucky timing to be first or near first into so many spots - doesn’t always work out that way! It felt wintry, cold and wonderful to glide back to the B lot in the evening glow.

I heard / saw video evidence of a 2 mile line of cars coming up the boulevard to F lot, which was full.

I had my suspicions; cancelled my reservation and went here instead. Started uphill at 10:45 and got first tracks . . . amazingly (given the 80 or so cars in the lot) no one had made it this far in - did see Mofro on the way out.
