Either Stevens just opened up more space this weekend or some hudge family canceled their reservations. Might as well notify this crowd because they'll fill up one way or another. Will be interesting to see what the new capacity is like if they did increase it.

I concur with Buster and Dromond. It seems that the previous day's freezing rain caused in a issue with the detachable quads/six when they came into the stall. The result was chinook stopping after almost every chair and frequent stops for rex and fq until the ice wore down. It took quite a while to make it to the top but the first run down sunnyside was much better than anticipated. Unlike dromond I did not make the best timing decisions(played for 6 opening prior to nw) and ultimately never made it back to 6 late in the day for the opening because I just couldn't wait in the fq lines to get up there. I really wish there was an alternative way to get to chair 6 without needing to take fq. I rarely take GV chair and would rarely take FQ if there was a better alternative.

Fast traveling and beauty lighting east of crystal. Mofro crushed my soul with an extra climb toward the end but my body prevailed. The bobsled track out from east peak was the highlight of skiing. That's not to say conditions were bad but that the bobsled track was all time! Skied Stevens today. 3-4” of dust over an icy crust off trail and hard, fast groomers. Lines were very manageable. Looking forward to a refresh without the follow on rising freezing level storm thing that keeps happening. Gorgeous day to be outside, though. Click image for larger version.

Braved dweebus today. Was nice and firm and smooth in the morning, chunderry off groomers.

Then the lines grew, wind rose, and groomers got pretty scoured.

Skied with a blue collar guy from Seattle today in JH. Appliance repairman, really mellow, cool, asked if burning was ok. Ha. oyoubetcha...
    Showed him the stashes.

I tempted fate with the post xmas xtal powbonanza. Arrived early AF which produced as the chair loaded at 8:15. Got some really nice runs in that somehow seemed better as the day progressed. The crust presented in places and the recent warming had definitely revealed a lot of rocks but overall a great day and we were able to deal with the lines OK.

I can’t say that pow day etiquette was perfect there or anywhere before but it seems to have taken a dive. We got in line with three people in front of us and by the time the chairs run there are nine. Later we are at the gate 3 rope drop and a bro decides he’s going to bum rush the gate in front of everyone and actually knocks the patroller down in the process - just rides off saying nothing. Entitlement and self-absorption to the extreme.

well that explains why my first ride up chinook at 8:45 displayed a totally schralped front side . luckily 6 was spinning so went straight there. snow was good, fun, a little windbuffed. didn't quite ski like 8 inches.

Fuck yeah! I made turns with him IN Person tonight under the lights of Snoqualmie. No lift lines and plenty of good snow made the kids Uber happy!

Hyak was absolutely mad. Cars were parked from Gold Hill with someone directing traffic back to I90 since it was full...parked all the way around the cloverleaf on ramp back to I90 West. A Mercedes literally parked on the shoulder of I90 after that filled up.

It was weird, no lift or magic lines at all at West but cars everywhere

Fun day rolling around the old rathole with da fam. Mined some of my favorite stupid.

Northway liftfeed Ottobahn was mangled and closed, so the line on Northway stayed small early. DefinAtely blown scorch in spots, but some good pockets. The edges of the Doors skied great, Breakover was too thin still. But we rolled out to 6 and hit some sweet windblown no one else was skiing on Screaming Babies apron. Rich smiles on the team, so great. Reflected on how lucky I am to experience that.

Finally saw some of the old guard like the Cosa Nostra Greydon Clarkae, James, Deano among others.

Dumb, but it was a really fun day.

Right to left, the Throne, Silver King and Three Way peaking in a proper pnw gloam. Hamburger skied sweet.

If you can get a reservation through eventbrite (via Crystal website) then you should be able to find a 2019-2020 season leftover ticket. People are selling them and they expire 12/31. $70ish is the going rate. They require eventbrite res tho - and someone can transfer you that too if they have it.

Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

    gmen.
