In all seriousness...if these guys even turn it around a little, like to a consistent .245 for all 3, that would be a huge jump. Lowell will certainly tail off (he does EVERY year) and Youk, as much as I love him and his ability to try his absolute hardest at Daisy Buchanan's to land a "Boston 5*", cant posibly keep this up can he? Papi will hit his stride though, Pedroia will continue to improve, and the bullpen hopefully will hold somewhat true.


*Boston 5 = girl who would be rated a 3.5 or 4 at best anywhere but Boston, where she is a 5. And thinks she is a 7.

Brock, I have been since I moved out here. I've said many times- I enjoy watching them, as their players come up through their system and they're young. They play hard and have emotion, unlike *most* of the Yankees.

Also, you could say the same thing about the Yankees... they've got Abreu, cano, Mientkicwnanfinosdewicz, Damon, Matsui, and Giambi all sucking a fat one- if they come back up to normal levels, they'll be winning again.

Very true, you have been on the Rockies wagon from day one. Personally I like the Padres in the same way (Young NL team with players I like to watch).

And the Yanks could absolutely get going, the difference is "all" the Sox have to do is maintain. The Yankees need BIG changes (not in personell, but in performance). Its still pretty early- might as well enjoy it now and hope it gets tight down the stretch (and of course, the Sox pull it out)

Loved the way the Tribe looked last night against Dice-K. The bats came alive with everyone hitting and the bull-pen got Byrd out of a hell of a jam with the bases juiced. Nice to salvage a win coming home for 4 with the Tigers!

Youre right, I could go either way. Tight race with the Sox winning is has the adrenaline rush. Or winning the division by 15 games would be fine too.

I think winning a tight race does more for your momentum going into the playoffs. If you're up by 15 games at the end of the season, you'll have guys sitting out and not really caring for the last two weeks- and you don't want that heading into the playoffs.

For my own sake, I wouldn't mind having the Sox win the division in a walk. For the sake of winning it all, I agree that it's best to have momentum coming into the playoffs.

Following the Cleveland series, I think that the Sox are the best AL team right now. That means taking into account the injuries other teams are dealing with (Angels, White Sox, Yankees) and the relative lack of experience of the Indians- meaning it could all change in two weeks. But for right now I like our team.
