man i just read the discussion.
i think i'm going to be skiing and not working the next few day here.

    AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
    NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RENO NV
    830 PM PST THU FEB 22 2007

    .SHORT TERM...
PRECIP SHIELD HAS PUSHED EAST OF THE SIERRA INTO THE GREAT BASIN
THIS AFTERNOON. UNSTABLE AIRMASS WITHIN THE CORE OF THE UPPER LOW
WILL MOVE THROUGH OVERNIGHT. STILL EXPECT ANOTHER 2-5" OF SNOW IN
THE SIERRA ABOVE 7000 FEET IN HEAVY CONVECTIVE BANDS. THERE HAVE
BEEN SOME LIGHTNING STRIKES WITHIN THE STRONGEST SHOWERS OVER THE
SAC... VALLEY...PROVING THAT ANY GIVEN LOCATION COULD PICK UP A QUICK
FEW INCHES AS THEY PASS THROUGH. SNOW RATIOS WILL REMAIN EXCELLENT
WITH THE COLD CONDITIONS. SINCE SNOW IS NOT WIDESPREAD AND MORE
SHOWERY HAVE ALLOWED THE SNOW ADVISORIES TO EXPIRE FOR SIERRA EXCEPT
MONO COUNTY WHERE PERSISTENT SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MOST OF THE
EVENING. LEESIDE VALLEYS WILL SEE SOME SNOW SHOWERS TONIGHT AND
LOCAL AREAS COULD PICK UP TO AN INCH BUT MOST LOCATIONS WONT SEE
MORE THAN A DUSTING. WINDS STILL GUSTING 80-100 MPH ON RIDGES BUT
WILL GRADUALLY COME DOWN AND BE GREATLY LOWER BY MID MORNING.

A BRIEF BREAK FROM FRIDAY NIGHT TO LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON AS A
SHORTWAVE RIDGE BUILDS INTO THE AREA. THE NEXT WAVE APPROACHES THE
AREA SATURDAY NIGHT WITH A GOOD SHOT OF PRECIP FOR THE SIERRA NORTH
TO THE OREGON BORDER. THERE IS A STRONG JET DRIVING THIS NEXT SYSTEM
WITH DECENT SPILLOVER INTO THE SURPRISE VALLEY AND NORTHERN WASHOE
COUNTY. DECIDED TO HOLD OFF ON A WATCH FOR THIS NEXT WAVE TO ALLOW
THE CURRENT SYSTEM TO EXIT...BUT IF THINGS DONT CHANGE WILL NEED
WINTER STATEMENTS FOR SAT NIGHT INTO MONDAY. THE PATTERN REMAINS
EXTREMELY FAVORABLE FOR HEAVY SNOW IN THE SIERRA SUNDAY INTO MONDAY
WITH GOOD SPILLOVER INTO WESTERN NV. MILNE

    .LONG TERM...MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...
RAISED POPS MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...AND TWEAKED POPS LIGHTLY
THEREAFTER. OTHERWISE...ONLY INSIGNIFICANT ADJUSTMENTS TO THE GRIDS.

CONTINUED THE UP TREND IN POPS FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY...WITH 00Z GFS
ENSEMBLE PROBABILITY OF PRECIP BETWEEN 65-95% FOR THE SIERRA
    AND
CHANCE POPS IN MOS GUIDANCE FOR RENO...WINNEMUCCA...AND ALTURAS. IT
LOOKS LIKE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF SEVERAL FEET ARE POSSIBLE FOR THE
    SIERRA...
WITH POSSIBLE SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS FOR PORTIONS OF THE
WESTERN GREAT BASIN MONDAY AND/OR TUESDAY. HOWEVER...AS THE
ORIENTATION AND LENGTH OF TIME THAT COLD FRONTS STAY OVER ANY ONE
AREA OF THE GREAT BASIN GREATLY AFFECTS SNOWFALL TOTALS...
SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IN THE GREAT BASIN IS VERY HARD TO PINPOINT
THIS FAR OUT. ONCE TODAY`S STORM WINDS DOWN...WE MAY CONSIDER
ANOTHER SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT HIGHLIGHTING THE POSSIBILITY OF
SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL FOR THE SIERRA AND SOME LOWER VALLEYS OF THE
    WESTERN GREAT BASIN. STAY TUNED!

Kirkwood, is the place I wanna be. I am heading up tomorrow and it looks like I'll need that evil 4x4 suv to get up there. I hope they get the spur open before we drive through tomorrow.

I do hope they hold the backside one more day.

Hey Mc, you know the song, Jesus loves me. Believe man, believe.

im not even catholic and im seriously thinking about going to midnight mass to thank a higher power for the blessings he has bestowed on me recently. And to ask very nicely to delay the openings of 10 and the backside to saturday as well.

those snow totals are insane 3-4 feet for kirkwood, FIVE FEET at Sierra. Well, given that i can only ski for a couple hours, I think I can live with skiing 5 Feet of fresh on Shoelaces brand new lotus 138's at Sierra!!!!! (goddamn, i just need to find something steep enough to make some turns).

    yeehaw!!!

48" of fresh, 15 degrees, and calm. It looks like everything is going to be open today, and my original plans of leaving Friday morning were the right ones. I can only hope that some mags get out there and enjoy the backside and 10.

yah it's gonna get hammered pretty good today. Let's hope for boundaries dropping at some point this weekend so we can hit the usual places that should finally be filled in enough now.

The best part is that I live near plenty of bridges to jump off.

Yeah, don't pick the Golden Gate though, way too trendy. Switch it up, do the Carquinez or something. And if you do, could you drop off your Comis before? Thanks!

Hmmm, wonder if it's going to be a bring the kid day or a don't bring the kid day tomorrow.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
