I wonder where smart, reasonable and skilled russians are? Probably keeping their head down or abroad. The brain drain ( and the oligarch drain [emoji6]) has been a thing in the last 20 years. The Soviet Union had the advantage that they didn't let anyone go. And still they lost the cold war economic Race. Interestingly it could be seen in glacial ice cores in the himalayas because the pollution (I.e. industrial production) went down before they officially announced glasnost. (But I think the study came out later and was a byproduct of climate change research).

War is fuzzy and what not.

Is there any way for the Russians to tell who is operating a particular drone? Like, can they tell if the feed is coming from within Ukraine vs. from Nevada?

Clearly the Ukranians dont have equipment to mimic A10s and Apaches, but do they have any old russian Bears that can be equipped to drop smart bombs from standoff positions? I doubt it, and the Bears are 65 or 70 year old prop planes that must make the easiest targets ever created for any anti air system. It just seems if the west could Jerry rig a couple of delivery wagons to offload 50 tons of munitions, it could really impact the next few weeks of this war.

Hypothetically 40 miles at 200 vehicles per mile (2 every 50 feet) at 2 missiles each is 16,000 missiles. The smart missile fired from a Bayraktar weighs about 40kg. So 640 tons. Need platforms/delivery systems too. Could cause a lot of trouble with less than that though.

In order to get that plan working, he needs to fix that supply line traffic jam. And it’ll take time.

And while that’s happening civil aviation in Russia is about to fall apart. Boeing & airbus have cut off spares, etc. the plane leases don’t conform to sanctions either, oh and nobody wants to buy Russian oil - like 2 million barrels failed to clear.

I’m enjoying all the posters here that are calling for immediate military intervention. How many of you have been in combat? I know there’s a few including myself. I doubt that those calling for intervention have been in combat and won’t be heading over there if it comes to that.
