It would be great if you could put your schedule here:

Also the guide questions over there in Hook Up: Do you want one and when for what.
Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

The only problem with this trip will be trying to decide which pair of skis to bring. I’d really like a dedicated touring set and an inbounds ski, but 2 pairs of boots would be a massive pain in the ass.

You know how many vacations I queue up in my mind that never happen?
I'm bringing either Billygoats or Dynastar Factory Protos if it's looking soft or Dynastar Legend 105s if it's looking firm.
Bindings will be p18 with CAST plate.
Boot will be Lange XT which is essentially an Alpine boot with tech inserts and walk mode.
Hope that helps.
I’m hoping the wildcat tours with shifts I bought this fall will be the answer. Possibly a little wide though if it’s super firm. Luckily I have 5 months to work it out.
😁
For me, that would be a perfect answer. See...when you say "firm" in a North American sense of high pressure no new snow, I think...go a a long tour, get up high, check out the glaciers etc. About the only time I've had a groomer day is if it is firm and the visibility of horrible which usually only happens at the beginning of a storm cycle.
I know Buster isn't your tour guide but I've been skiing enough with him to know that if he is recommending a place it is for long aesthetic of piste itineraries.
For most, the Alps ain't really about "charging". That shit will put you in the hospital. Prepare to be humbled in a big way.
Take the equipment that you are most comfortable skiing in ALL conditions and ALL terrain. If you can't do this on touring equipment you will be limited in access and safety. Sometimes you end up in a village and the train stop is 30mins up an XC track, or you go the wrong way over insane exposure. Slapping on the hides sure makes these situations more management. Skiing is mountain travel.
Also keep in mind that it will be the end of March meaning that outdoor Apres will be in full spring. Make sure your boots are comfortable. A guide friend of mine said the Rossbodenstock was one of his favorite tours in the area. I don't see where the bar is at the bottom however. Don't forget your axe.

I’m loving all these videos.
Just for a bit more stoke - Switzerland (early) March 2018. Not Andermatt (Klosters), but you can pretend if it makes you feel better:

I’m new to this and haven’t figured out how to attach video, so have pasted link instead. Sorry for the Jong move.
I don't have any Disentis/Andermatt stoke but here are some TRs from Engelberg, March and April can be very good.![]()

Stoke. Flights booked - March 13 - 28th. A slight shift in schedule. Planning to be at Mt Lodge nights 15, 16, 17. Then Urner, then Engleberg from the 22nd to the 27th.
Mmm G3000. That's where I went in ~feb 2014. I had to give a talk at a conference in Les Diablerets and it snowed 30-40 cm while I was there. After being closed for 2 days for storms and wind they opened G3000 and everyone waiting for the opening fit in the first tram. I was solo and it took me a lap to figure out the freeride there, but damn it was good once I did.
Move upside and let the man go through...
Here is a thread about last season, from november till end of season... no action but you can see most of the resort
