Glad that you're stoked and ready to get back to it. Please put up some pics here as able.

I have a 7 and a 2 year old and for some reason this was actually my wife’s idea. Which the more I think about the more worried I become about what my true cost is going to be.

In the meantime here’s some andermatt porn

Found a better big picture of the entire skiable area. The Gemsstock at the left is about 5000 vertical foot drop while Disentis on the right side is closer to 5700 foot vertical drop:

I'm hoping that the new cable car in red from Sedrun to Parlets, the Salins-Cungieri-Cuolm da Vi, will be ready.

    That is sexy. Very sexy.

If that cable car is running, then it makes logistics from venduls place even easier.

Officially they say it will be open in the summer, but last week they already mounted the cables... basically all they are missing are The interiors of the mountain and valley station... it seems impossible that they don't open it up this winter!

I've done Disentis twice by taking the train from Andermatt.

One gets off at the Acla di Fontauna stop and it'a a 10 minute schlepp up to the tram.

It's nice, but not required, to pack some lightweight, snowproof shoes if there's walking in the villages to be done.

I'll be on the 7:33 train to Andermatt a bunch.

Well end of march is a bit late, but trust me that from cuolmut to tschamut through Val Val and the Schneehunerstock region can be a lot of fun without anybody fighting for their line like at Gstock

Yeah. If andermatt opens at 8:30 on a good pow day I try to be there at 7:30ish.

by no means American lift frenzy, but one of the busier areas. I like to be in the first wave and then make less stressful decisions. I have a system in order that gets (or used to... I only go there every once in a while as a weekend warrior) me untracked the whole day (euro untracked not US. ). It's much harder in engelberg these days. I usually Stopp skiing at 2pm in eberg.

Seconding this. Headed to Zurich with my wife for her 40th at a different time than the mag trip. This thread’s been incredibly helpful - thanks to Buster and all who have/are contributing

And here is a tour that the Tgom tram can assist you on: https://regio.outdooractive.com/oar-...aler/11430208/

Looks like in a good year there may be some lines from near the top...

You'll miss BBI proper, but in case anyone wants to join me on the Urner Haute route, this is the group I'm going with per Buster's suggestion:

    http://www.andermatt-guides.ch/EN/ur...ute-route.html

NOTE: In communications with Dan it sounds like the trip will likely run 19-23rd due to scheduling reasons. Not 18-22. Which gives you an extra day to hang and ski with mag's out of Vendul's place.

    Gipfel (Andermatt) couloir

More of a how to get to the thing, this skier in the viddy kind of peunces the beginning, though it does look like thin cover.
Follow the cattrack down 2 turns before it heads over towards Felsental, duck the rope and hike a short way along the spine paralleling the tram line on skiers left.

In the video, one can see the tramline and a tower on skiers right.
