Ahh, sorry to muddy the waters. But I have older 191's. I never feel like they are unmanageable in the trees. The RES makes these super nimble. And, I have even had times when driving the tips through crud I wished I had another 5 cm out front. That's why, for our similar proportions, I recommend the 189's. Now, your snow may dictate that decision as well; I'm an inland NW maritime-ish powder skier. And, FWIW, the only reason I think I love the wrens at a 184 is because I have a custom +1 layer of carbon to stiffen them up. YMMV. Sounds like you have a good offer to try the 184's. If you're ever at Schweitzer you can try out my 191's...
