    Care to elaborate?

And Alex, some decent off piste going on here. Better than I had expected. Even warmer tomorrow, so that is good.

If you like to snorkel, KW is the place to be. Low tide and coral in full effect.

You know its going to be a good day when 10 isn't spinning..

    KT for the win!

KT offered up some good skiing today!
Full parking lots on arrival & loads of peeps in Rentals (we got edges!) but no real lines at KT & Red Dog.
Nice smooth zone between Dead Tree & Saddle...which we had to ourselves for a couple of runs.
GS bowl was fun. West Face was stellar - in its fashion. Lady's Downhill was ok (Cinders liked it).

Ventured up Headwall - mostly closed, too icy - and Siberia but they were both crappy in comparison.

We will be at NoStars tomorrow(Duh duh duh!!)

The west faces in the trees between Relay and either side of the radio towers was holding a lot of really good snow with good coverage yesterday. A lot of untracked good lines, although it did get a little more traffic while we were out there. It was nice to double up on my buddy's sled to get up there early. I've also never seen so many people sledding on 431. It was insane.

My buddy ended up post holing back up a run due to an iced up skin we later thawed out in the sun and I forgot my poles on top one run and had to make some stick poles to get out but other than that it was a good day

West face of relay ridge is great tree skiing. Nice long consistent pitch. I wonder if any of the protected chutes in bronco are holding snow? Kinda bummed on this juneuary forecast, but at least I saw it coming and am about to get the fuckskis. Its dumping in the alps and the northern Rockies, so do the smart thing and go somewhere worthwhile

Skied groomers at Alpine today with Mrs. UCL. Exceeded my expectations by far, but I went in with zero expectations other than boilerplate. Warming today definitely helped a ton. Going to hunt some corn tomorrow touring.

Yeah, that was some nice soft-serve on south faces in the CP area this afternoon. Spring conditions are here.

Lots of power stashes in the trees and shade below Hourglass and Tamarack peak today. Ie, Galena bowl etc.
The sun exposed lines 'sounded' pretty firm and icy as expected; I avoided them.

Probably too late, but thinking of heading to silver peak tomorrow and wondering if anyone has beta for the approach and conditions the bowl. Based on Squaw coverage, feel confident that the bowl is in, but also that the approach road is melted out a fair ways in. Is it gated? How far up is continuous snow cover? Worth bringing bikes? TIA

The road should go from the parking. Coverage the entire approach should be fine. Snow holds on that road a long time as it is in predominantly in the shade. (FWIW, I haven't been up SP in 2 weeks though, but drove by the trailhead today and it looks better than 2 weeks ago when it went fine).

Protected N/NW aspects may still have wintery snow. S-facing aspects of east bowl might soften tomorrow as well depending how warm it gets.

Yep, west facing low-angle stuff was soft. The steeper/exposed N/NE terrain was wind scoured or windboard. 431 was just amazing - - the entire population of Reno was playing in the meadows.

On the other hand, KT west face and headwall's C2 bowl were both skiing great on friday - styrofoam and chalk. And the entire population of San Francisco was strewn about Mountain Run, looking for the on-mountain starbucks. Good times.

Had a blast at Kirkwood today - skied everything from perfect groomers to blue ice to untracked pow to frozen wet slide debris....I'd say the snow was variable. I mainly skied Oops and Chamlox since it was the most wintery with best terrain. Chair 10 never opened so I couldn't jump into Sisters, eagle bowl, or Norms. I did go out to West Shore to take a peek and ended skiing Boulevard starting on left side as it got a little bit of sun and softened the rain crust. However, it was more survival skiing especially when crux was especially bulletproof. Diagonal chute still has a big air in the middle as well as shitty snow. The icefall zone looked worse with rain runnels and wet slide activity since it faces East. Temple of Doom is large but the side skied well. As for thunder saddle, it was mainly wintery snow the whole way albeit funky. I skied handrail but I would wait for more storms

Wagon Wheels bowl to Fingers is horrendous - just avoid it. Skiers right of Lightning and left of Rabbits was incredibly firm although it looked promising.

Handrail would be great at low tide. Leave much base material?

Following up on this, we were up at Silver Peak yesterday. Road goes the entire way and was better covered than a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately provides you access easily to where the snow line is consistent to skin up the ridge).

Clouds yesterday kept anything in the E bowl from softening (we could see the shine). The warming trend made the shaded N-aspects snow sticky unfortunately, as stuff near and below treeline was not wind affected and otherwise would have skied great on a supportable base.

NW trees skied pretty good still - the snow was colder in the NW trees than the NE trees which were much moister. Still this warming definitely got stuff heavy.

Rain crust is continuing to facet.
