On Sunday, January 11th I skied 8 Tahoe Resorts in One Day. They were:
    1. Sierra at Tahoe, 8:20-8:40. Skied from the upper lot past the new lodge to catch the first chair on Grandview. Smooth, edge-able groomers with frozen chicken heads off of the groomed.
    2. Kirkwood, 9:30-9:50. Timber Creek to Cornice to Sentinal Bowl. Semi-icy groomers with thawing chicken heads off of the groomed.
    3. Heavenly, 10:55-11:10. Stagecoach to Olympic Downhill. Gaper-scraped groomer.
    4. Diamond Peak, 12:10-12:30, Lodgepole to Crystal to Crystal Ridge. Corny snow with thin coverage in places.
    5. Northstar, 1:10-1:50. Highlands Gondola to Tahoe Zephyr to Pioneer to Big Easy to Highlands Gondola. Corny snow.
    6. Squaw Valley, 2:40-3:00. KT-22 Icy moguls with obstacles.
    7. Alpine Meadows, 3:30-4:00. Summit to Scott. Sugary fine crystals in Alpine Bowl and nearly pre-setup corn.
    8. Boreal, 4:50-5:40. Accelerator Quad, 5 runs. Edge able pre-setup corn.
I used the PM Gear Hybrid Byas all day long. They easily handled all of the changing conditions.
(P.S. I hoped to ski 9 resorts, but I ran out of time.)
(P.P.S. We really need more snow)

That just sounds like a lot of driving and parking and not a lot of skiing.

Sounds entertaining, Vets. Something to do, at least.

Vets. You took a lift with my wife at the Wood. She asked you how it was at the top. Assumed you knew based on your skis.

She told me the story and your plan and I thought it might be you. How funny. Wait till she finds out I'm right.

She also said Soda Springs was on the plan. Maybe next time.

I must have just missed you. I was in the beach chairs with my son. He wanted to get out for first chair and was spent after three runs.

    Rad! Good work Vets.

I had some friends ski all six Ski Lake Tahoe resorts in a day back around 2004 when they still sold that pass (it was 2100 bucks i think i remember!).

Eight resorts ups the ante! Gotta resort to stuff like that these days to keep entertained.

My girlfriend is doing stuff with Disabled Sports at Alpine on Sunday and as I am blacked out and have no interest in skiing with the crowds anyway, is anybody up for a tour in the North Lake area?

I sense a Tahoe Decathlon in the works. 10 resorts in one day. Drivers, sidekicks, and getaway cats will be rally drivers. We roll out of the car with skis in hand and tickets pre-purchase for the event or race bibs approved by the resorts. Maybe on May 1st. We can call it the May Day Tahoe Decathlon.

I would be down to tour. So rusty because I haven't toured this season but I have 6 or 7 resort days in already.

No, I didn't do that. I became quite accomplished at putting on and taking off my boots quickly. My old Keen sandals are quick and comfortable for driving.

I think I might be able accomplish a tribathalon at Iron Blossam at Snowbird this coming weekend. Would swimming pool to sauna to hot tub count? Would adding a shower make it a quadbathalon?

I washed the car and put snow tires on today. That should do it. Otherwise I'm sneaking aboard a ship to Japan.

despite the forecast for no rain or snow thoughout the month that was posted 3 hours ago it looks like rain or snow will be hitting the north shore by about 9am. the weather folks are especially bad this year.

id guess rain seeing it is already 37 at Incline Village and the forecast high for the next few days is in the upper 40s to low 50s. And are you looking at the radar, or just fantasizing? That looks more like some clouds than precipitation.

Things are looking dismal. OTOH, the surf started pumping again last Friday, looks good through the coming week, with perhaps a 5' powder day dump kind of surf arriving for next weekend. I have six days free in February, so I expect some good snowfall around then.

Us: "At least the groomers have been skiing nicely, and when it warms up the off piste isn't too horrible."

Mother Nature: "Here's some rain. Go fuck yourself."
