Never trust a forecast that calls for heavy snow for the both the eastern plains AND Eagle/Summit/Grand Counties.

Funny you say that as I was thinking the same exact thing last night.

Heading up to Abasin. Hopefully they pick some more up in the next couple of hours and I can catch a few rope drops.

This....although to be fair they were only calling for 2-6 for Denver which isn't heavy snow.

That isn't very much, but I saw 4"-8" forecasted, maybe even more for areas out east of the metro area. Maybe not big, but fairly substantial.

Meh, Wolf Creek is pretty much so-so until Knife Edge and Waterfall opens. Alberta Hike also. Too short of pitches IMO. At least they get good snowfall though. The BC is better, honestly.

Delayed snowfal doesn't do much for a powder day - gets skied out as it comes down, but at least it'll help with terrain openings and base depth.

As I wrote last night, the storm was slower than expected so there's still a good amount of snow coming this morning and midday. Locations south and west reported good totals this morning but location further east from about Vail eastward didn't see as much snow as I expected overnight because the storm was a little slower. However the good news is that the storm is far from over and snow should get heavier this morning and midday for many areas from Aspen through I-70. Winds are just now beginning to switch to the west and west-northwest and this is the prefered wind direction for the I-70 areas.

Still coming down here in the RFV.. had anywhere from 3" to 12" on the driveway, depending on the drift.. so, yeah, it was windy. I think the right aspects could be DEEP today.

yesterday was definitely the day to be out, barely snowing in summit as of now. they were blasting contest bowl like crazy yesterday, I imagine it'll be open by the weekend (or at least it should be)

Yes, sounds like it.

t was a big day for the ski patrol. They were prepping trails for opening and doing a lot of avalanche work. There was plenty of ski cutting, packing, and explosives work. We saw several very small slides, a decent sized slide in South Chute on Slalom Slope, and a HUGE AVALANCHE on Pali stretching from Main Street to the 2nd Alley.

Well big bust for this morning, the delayed snow isn't even coming through at LL. stopped snowing around 8. Should have made it out yesterday.

Snowing bit here at copper but they only got the two inches they reported. Disappointed, but what can you do but ski?

So glad I made it out yesterday, faceshots in the morning at berthoud pass. Looks like a classic summit county donut storm. At least some places got something, which is better than nothing.
