No idea but I'm facebook friends with one of the guys who runs aspenweather.net and they called that we weren't going to get anything more than a trace last night, so there is some meteorological reason for it. I don't know what it is though.

Yo, careful out there. Was out in the BC on Sat/Sun with Lindahl & Pomeroy and we were pushing 2+ foot crowns all over the place. This new snow is sitting on some awful faceted sugar. After the storm today and tonight I anticipate some major natural cycles and skier triggered slides in East Vail. Abrahams going to the ground? Maybe. I 'll Let the yahoos clean it up on Wednesday, thur and friday before I get back in there.

Yep, the ‘Boat is fucking rocking. 14” at the summit, 9” since 5am, and this is before the main storm charges in….

It’s looking like the best conditions since March, and I've to leave for Christmas on the Least Coast. Damn!

Just got this shot from N1CK who's skiing Mary Jane today, said it was snowing on his way up and over BP and he can't see the color of his boots.

Oh dang, thinking about a Monarch bit-n-run trip this weekend. Love that place, hoping Mirkwood opens for this weekend.

If the winds are out of the southwest in Summit and Vail then there won't anywhere near a foot of snow much less 2 feet...they better shift around to the W/NW or the butthurt's gonna be huge....

I know that the days I spend the most time on PornHub seem to correspond to lack of snowfall. But it never occured to me to graph it out!

    per CAIC:

"Winds will be easing by early Wednesday morning and expect a shift to the northwest by afternoon. Snowfall strength eases but will continue into early Wednesday evening."

Judging from the webcams, there's a lull in the storm right now in Summit/Eagle.

Snow is happening along the cold front. Been snowing most of the day in Steamboat and north as they are benefiting from the front. The front passage southward is slightly delayed from early predictions. Probably won't snow much in the i-70 corridor until about midnight. Winds shift to NW following frontal passage, so snow will happen. Southern mountains have orographics in place with current SW flow. I think the Grand Mesa will be the big winner. But I wish I was in Steamboat instead of the office.

What are the chances of road closures throughout the day tomorrow? I need to pick someone up at DIA at 3:30. Can I make some turns in the morning or am I going to have to give myself 6 hours to get down there?

Mirkwood open? If so, there's your answer. If not, well, its a lot closer coming from Boulder.
