That kid is so gonna rip Punani a new asshole in a few years.
splat - you interested in building him some skis? I was thinking something 90mm wide by 90cm long. Soft and light. He only weighs 40 pounds.

Still waiting...
Saw tons of kids coming through icefall on Saturday. Only problem is there is a small unmarked hole below an exposed rock, skiers of left of the exit of icefall. We watched a little girl cut hard after exiting and slide right into it on Saturday, she was OK.
telemike, I spotted a father with his two kids today at AM, all on Moments. The kids skis were nice looking and may have fit your dimensions posted above. Can't find any mention of kids skis on their site though.
jahroy - thanks
splat - understood, thanks!
powdork - those skis are 93cm long and 75mm wide - he just bumped up from 80cm skis last month - he's still a little dude
unpossible - thanks for the tip

They're coming out next year I think...or maybe an early release? From the 11/12 thread in Tech Talk:
Volkl makes a Gotama Jr. too.

thanks for the info Arty - at this point, anything over 100cm seems long, but by next season, who knows...

I talked to Casey last week and they may actually a ski as short as 100cm, but more likely 110cm. :-)
Telemike...my kid will be 3 at the end of July, is already 3' 7" @ almost 40lbs and currently rockin' 70cms. I'm trying to gauge on the best length for learning, but I'm thinking he needs something a bit longer and fatter. (I posted this instead of a PM in case anyone else is interested in an answer)
Ummmmmm, where the hell is this? Cirque or Slash? God damn you.
Heh, the guy is getting skills, looks at that composition!![]()

Telemike - that is an awesome picture of your son!
My god son is 51/2 this winter and mostly was on his 100cm. Rode the 110s to try them out a week ago. Mom said they seemed to fit him well. Last year he was on 90cm. All of these are skinny "race" design. He has a hard time in deep snow and Dad is looking for a pair of fatties, about 110cm for next season.
I think Owen is a more aggressive skier, based on shots I have seen of him. God son is cautious, but solid. Will ski off of 6 with his group, but prefers 11.
His brother turned 3 (flyweight but above average height) in March and has been rocking the 80cm all season. He has been skiing unassisted (no harness) since Feb, and he has no problem turning the ski and holding an edge. Stopping is not his strong suit.
Except for deep snow, they have shown no need for anything wide. It seems to be enough of a platform for them. More sidecut seems to have helped them learn to turn more and roll over on edge.
thursday looks interesting as does next week.
