Doh! Forgot about those (we normally drop in from Broken Arrow, or beside High Camp)
Thank You

Squaw tomorrow, Alpine Sunday, looking for leftovers. Anyone gonna be around?
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
On and on snow all day at Alpine today. Snow was light with a hard layer lurking below.
I have a really fun time making powder turns with my 69 year old Dad and my daughters (8 & 5).
I managed to remember to take out the camcorder for a little bit of Gentian.
x- post from Kid Stoke thread.

Keeeeller day at teh Wood w/ the following making up a superb crew for a bit: Mashed, Powdork, Otttime, Dhelihiker, K-Factor, and a few dudes I thought were not mags but please correct if I misunderestimated there.
Shit went down. I don't know why, because conditions were sweet for hippie turns, but not for blasting off shit. And yet..stupid stuff happened. Cool day. Thanks all.
BTW: place is pretty ripped up, but not totally milked. I wouldn't say tomorrow will suck. Limited a bit, but no suckage if you know where to pilot 'em. 4pm was still holding gold.
today was rad, fun crew. Temple got nuked.
Im doing a Cali lap first thing tomorrow if anyone is down.
Hello darkness my old friend
^ ^ ^ I def. did not. Can't speak for others, since I was off perfoming my husbandly duties (mostly ski-related) for the last bit o' day. But I kinda doubt the crew got all up in that bizzzness.
Enjoy, Slim.![]()
mashed and I hit Thunder. Real dust on crust and super sluffy up top. Mashed had his sluff run the entire vert, through the lower chutes. Spur proper is untouched. Four lines down the cliff bands to the right. It was getting crusty in there at 6PM.

lots of fun, lots of laffs, LOTS of crashes.
and there's a crevasse under temple that learned a thing (or 2) about where not to be if you don't want snowboarders landing in you.
tr at 11 (just not 11 tonight (or tomorrow))
It's looking like Alpine Saturday, Squaw Sunday for me as well.
Today at AM was stellar- though I didn't get many runs in, those I got were amazing. I skied mostly bottomless pow, though in some spots a little crust was felt on ridges. My itenerary for the day began with a hike out towards Grouse Rock; I dropped in from the knife edge before it. Untracked, I was the second or third person to get there, and the snow was light, fluffy, and I only scraped ice on the first two turns or so. Back to Summit, and I made an Estelle to Cartoonland/boundary line. Castle was good, though the hard layer underneath showed through on the ridges. Between them, it was deep and bottomless. Cartoonland was awesome, and though the snow was heavier than anywhere else, it was almost entirely bottomless- like a foot of pow on top of a sponge. After that, we took Hot Wheels to get to Lakeview for a Munchkin's run. M3 was boot deep and there was no crust underneath. The word bottomless is becoming monotonous, I'm going to try to switch it up a little. A shuttle pulled up as we got to the main road, the timing was supreme. I stopped in Treats for a blueberry muffin, and then decided I wanted another, so I had a banana nut muffin. Both were excellent, a lot like the snow. We took Summit again, and went to High Yellow. The snow wasn't unlike the previously described snow; and though the first few turns exposed a little bit of hardpack, the rest were pure faceshooting goodness. We cut right high enough to get to the top of Hot Wheels, and went over to Lakeview for M3, part II. It was just like the first run, only there were 3 more tracks in it than before. No biggie, there was still plenty of untracked to be had, and once again, a grand majority of the run was comparable to that unnecessarily giant pit in 300: bottomless. Another banana nut muffin from Treats. Yum. At this point in the day, I was pretty done with hiking, and I made one or two Summit laps looking for stashes I didn't have to hike to. I ran into powderbro Sr., and we headed on over to Scott. One from just below Fallopian Tubes, down to the condos, in some of the deepest snow of the day, and we decided to head on in.
A wildly successful day, with (I counted) at least one face shot on every run, and a whole lot of awesome, untracked snow. And I didn't even get out there until 10:00! Talk about a sleeper pow day.
jiberish
Good times to finish out the season. Multiple crashes or not, the snow was fun. I think I was having a hard time finishing off with a grey bird flat light tour, so I eeked out one more day. It was a mix of powder, crust, sun, snow, friends and being stoked I did not hit a tree. No sunburn, no speeding ticket and no injury. The wife is stoked - now I just need to keep that up for 18 years.
Enjoy the spring folks. It looks like it is gonna be pretty epic touring for a while. Time to hit up those big lines.
someone already said it but it was a perfect day for hippyturnin and meadow skippin.
