Skied Alpine yesterday with The Mom, TeleGirl (but mainly on her new alpine gear, as she prepares to switch back for racing next year), and SnowHot. It was pretty sticky, especially on the flats, as it never got cold enough overnight to set up well. But fun laps were had in Palisaides, under Keyhole, out in Wolverine Bowl and Cirque, in the Ds....
Really wished that A-Bowl was turning. Would've made the day a lot more fun to avoid the lower run-outs.
On the hill again tomorrow, then back down and probably not up for the weekend, sadly.
(EDIT: Looks like we're bagging today due to wind -- when the snow is soggy and Summit isn't turning, well, there are things to do around the house.)
(Oh, and add me to the chorus of ooohs and aaahs for MiniMike.)

Hey,
Cinders & me are skiing at Squaw on Sat 4/23, and thinking about staying overnight at Northstar to ski there on Sunday
If there's anyone who could drive us and our gear, from Squaw to Northstar, after the lifts close on Saturday, we'd pay for gas, or invite you in for refreshments...
We have a ride home on the Sunday.
If you can help, please PM me before Friday.

wow, page 2!
kirkwood was ridiculous today. nobody there. first tracks everywhere we went. smooth and fast.
I was going to hit Squaw but worked double shifts yesterday. Consequently I slept in and hit Mt Rose instead.
Good lord it was tits up off the charts fantastic! Probably an average of 5"deep of creamcheese to blower pow. Strong winds filled in tracks, great visiblity, and the Chutes were open when I got there about 9:30am. The place was empty. Because of high winds I actually had to wait for another rider to show up many times because they wouldn't let you ride solo on the chair.
Nearly every run I was alone, flying though the pow with no need to worry about other skiers and it was a serene yet adrenalizing day. The Chutes had the best snow by far (excluding the intermittent piles of avalance debris). Simply epic and .....for April 21st? Unreal!!!
Every man dies. Not every man lives.
You don’t stop playing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop playing.
The weather up here has been perfect all season (excluding January). Its just beautiful and sunny and warm now and just....fantastic. Tahoe is pretty amazing. Turxski- i dont think i can give you a ride, but i can set you up with a deal on lodging at northstar if you want.
Woo Hoo!We got the hook-up!
Thanks to Sinecure, we have a ride!
And Thank You edi31 for the kickass Deal!![]()

Kirkwood, April 21, 2011
Didn't make it up chair 10 today, although it looked like a lot of fun.
Didn't make it up chair 6 either, although the palisades were lightly tracked at 3:30 pm. And the boundary line / Martin's Point was even less tracked.
I skied without my bro's today but still had a blast lapping chair 7 all the live long day with frankie, my six year old munchkin. Her fourth day on skis, she took some hard falls in the cream cheese, but skied aggressively nonetheless and even took a few laps in the terrain park. I'm so proud of my little ski buddy!
I heart Kirkwood!

Sorry boss, I have a pass there and, I think, the longest skis I ever skied were 205. Besides that, the longest skis I have now are 192. I don't even hit the mark to ski with the ladies.
okbye
The Wood was true to its tune yesterday.
5 opened before 6.
Blizzard and Bluebird.
Farmed Greens and Purples.
10 opened after 10. When everybody went to 10 and I made the track (the goods track as I call it) all the way past the closed signs because I could, not that I had to. Although, I did want to know if I was being followed and made it have a funny spot or two. You know your cool when everybody wants to ski your track. Slayed some of our favorites Dread Locked lines and was able to admire them from the small creek chair.
1pm came around and it got sunny. I was enjoying the small creek chair when I got my first look. I saw Chammys. Could it be that nobody had tamed her yet? Why? was my only question. You see I have not conquered her since a mighty fine winter ago. Mainly because I, well you know was filming friends (yea).
Pole Whacking my way to the edge, because Pole Whacking is cool, not because I was timid.
Reality sets in. I have been a puss blissfully making art of the palisades, I have no GNAR points yet today, and I am alone.
Standing atop alone and still Pole Whacking.
I cut the crap and dropped in to face shot city. Returned to the West side of the CLOSED signs until 2. Now only Chammys is cool. Pole Wacked some more, shouted at the guy entering from much further below "Check Me Out, I'm gonna RIP this Shit." I did.
More CLOSED laps before ripping the other cool chair that was not quite as aesthetic.
Still got firsts in Banana then over to the hotter sister Pencil.
Yesterday my friends was a good day. Plenty of sitting on the chair eying your latest claim.
Skied the CLOSED until closing, no friends, no stopping, no lunch, only my granola bar and bottle of water.
Legs hurt today.
I did all that cool gardening stuff last Friday and today I have babies
And one more thing, remember to sunscreen up, I gave myself one funny goggle tan.
my extra Squaw tix dissapeared, but I found a N* and some Alpine tix for cheap if anyone in the need?
are you doing LBD tomorrow at alpine? i need alpine tix i think.
Didn't want to create a new thread so thought I'd spam it here even though it's nowhere close to Newport Beach. Tahoe is in cali, which makes it closer than my home of BC.
If you haven't seen it yet Out of the Shadows is playing at the Newport Beach Film Festival on Thursday May 5th at 8:30pm at triangle square 7. Go check it out.

damn dhelihiker, we're gonna miss the unicorn shirt this weekend. You're gonna miss me flailing down Summit on Ottime's 210 ARCs!!! I don't even know how to ski straight skis, let alone those burly pieces of lumber with the Atomic logo on them!
Those 220s must have a massive BSL mount as well
edit: Frush and Ty haven't chimed in recently ... you guys coming???
