My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Thanks. Yeah, correct location but I'm sure you can name the peak ... think of a book written by Krakauer about ze Mormons. I've chosen the same title for this self portrait.

Mount Banner...no clue about the book. It was very late and I was trying to figure out Ritter or Banner

That's great work! How many tries did it take? You sat really still.

thanks Nash, I got that one on the third try. 30 sec @ f4 and I basically guessed the focus by setting the MF dial to about 7 feet. The hardest part of sitting still was that it was at 10K feet and between my sea level crappy lungs and allergies kicking my ass it was hard to breathe really slowly without moving. I really need to get a remote release and timer though, using the self-timer on the XSi can be a pain sometimes.

The Gizmdo shooting challenge is fall I can submit 3 entries. This is my first round of pics.

The power lines are ugly, I guess.

The announcement of the D7000 drove the price down enough to put it in range. Can't wait to shoot at 3200 iso without all the noise.
