I am not a McCain fan. However, I doubt that he has skeletons in his closet that will offend the middle of the road voters.

While your post count indicates you are just an idiot JONG who just joined this month and is posting like crazy to gain cred, I recognize the possibility that you might be an alias for someone who likes to play the devil's advocate.

If you aren't an alias, you are ignorant, and should spend the next few months reading political threads in the padded room before posting such stupid comments as the one above. If you do so, you won't have to ask stupid questions as a means of asserting that you know something. Now, please shut your pie hole.

That said, I'm beginning to like Obama, just because of how he makes many of the rich and greedy squirm; now that's entertainment.

Obama has many rich friends. You fail to see the number one political truth, they are all bought and paid for. The masters love it when the sheep buy into their propaganda.

Jer and anyone else claiming this has been bad for the party is high...we've got political machines in places we've never had before (even red states...tx could very well go blue this year), democratic registration is up 400%, the grass roots support is through the roof as is fundraising.

I do wish Hilary would drop out though. It's clear she cant win, and even her waiting for WV so she can go out on a win is another week the partys not unifying. Especially if she keeps up her "vote white" propaganda (nevermind Obama pulls the "white" demographic...all she has a majority in is the "white, no college, lower middle class" demographic..)

anyways. It's a good time to be a Democrat. Taking into account how many congressional seats we're taking from the republicans this cycle, it could feasibly be 8-12 yrs of Bush repair and some intelligent policy making.
Hillary is staying in for reasons other than going out on a win, she needs Obama to help pay off campaign debts, for him to concede ground on a policy issue (healthcare is my guess), and ensure a solution for FL and MI (she'll lose even with both of these state figured into the equation) . Obama reaching out the olive branch will go a long way towards bringing the party together, after all, he is running his campaign on bridging the divide between waring factions.

I'm looking forward to working for Obama, he ran a fantastic campaign.

Thanks for the inside scoop. Doesn't the DNC step up to help with the debt load? Yes, i bet healthcare has a lot more potential than the gas tax holiday, for instance. Why does she need him to roll on an issue? Seems like Obama's been pretty positive toward her, not like an olive branch is needed for anything he's said, but maybe his staffers were a little more outspoken [pesky staffers anyway] He clearly rebuffed the question about having her on his ticket, stating emphatically it's not his place to presume he's the nominee...

Kokie Roberts had a similar take on it as you. That stepping out of the race is almost more a negotiation than a simple decision. Glad to hear you've got a spot in Obama's campaign, it's gonna be interesting to say the least.

by "solution," do you mean that the DNC will (in the future) allow the delegate totals from the early primaries?

it's somewhat worrisome that she's running a campaign in the red and continuing to spend just to achieve the results you listed instead of conceding immediately and not sending the campaign even further into the red.

good god, i hope she isn't spending new yorkers' tax dollars the way she has spent campaign funds.

Well, she honestly thought she had a chance, but the results in IN and NC put a kabosh on that outlook.

He needs to roll on an issue, especially healthcare, because it gives her supporters a reason to get behind Obama. Healthcare was the number 1 reason why people supported her in the primaries, if he concedes that ground, it'll go a long way towards eliminating a concern of Hillary supporters. It also gives Hillary supporters a sense that the energy that they expended on the campaign trail was not for nothing.

Thats why I said he makes "MANY of the rich and greedy squirm", you complete moron. I am no sheep, I haven't voted for a Democrat or Republican since '88.

I have no doubt that Obama has many very wealthy friends and supporters, and I don't think he is some great savior, but I know he isn't the sort of war monger that McCain is, and he isn't as neurotic as Hillary.

Perhaps before spouting rhetoric, you should know who you are applying your short sighted template to. Your shit is weak.

The whole "she needs to drop out ASAP" meme is really weird. There's tons of precedent for candidates to stay in to the convention in order to negotiate platforms, etc... Reagan in 76, Kennedy in 80, Hart in 84, George HW Bush in 88, and I think Jesse Jackson stayed in too but I can't remember the year.

The only way BO wins the general election is if Hillary is the Veep. He needs her (and Bill) to sell him to rural voters ... not that he or his supporters want to hear this but for all his talk of post partisan healing blah blah blah he'll never have the chance if he can't heal the democratic party first. The divided party won't win. McCain has similar problems which is why Huckabee is almost certain to be his Veep.

Wow - you must be using your mystical "starets" powers to deduce that stuff!

LG is right. Actually, he somewhat underestimated the current libdouche to normal ratio. I'd say it's more like 5 to 1. Why do you think this place is a magnet for guys like LG, AJ, BJ, and...well...me?

Yeah - I'm not too bright. Unlike yourself. Maybe you could enlighten me.

And I take it you're not in on the bet, huh?

And to everybody else: WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN?? ALL YOUR MOTHERS WERE WOMEN. YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED!!! SHAME ON YOU!! SHAME!!! Hillary has experience and actual plans to get the country back on track, unlike Obama. All Obama can do is give stupidasses a tingly sensation when he talks. That and he has a penis - which is exactly why all you Obama sheep love him so much. It would be SOOOO horrible to have a woman as president, wouldn't it?? You all make me sick.

I think the Clintons hurt BO's chances at winning the presidency. There are a lot of veep candidates that will be similar in function as you have described. Richardson perhaps? And she needs to drop out to unite the Dems. If she doesn't it will hurt the dems in the election. Regardless I don't see an ancient old geezer being the best bet for the president so it shouldn't really matter if she stays in to the end if that's what floats her boat.

i don't know about richardson for vp. of all the candidates, he was my favorite on the issues but i don't think he's a very good campaigner.

there's a lot of history that suggests the way to win the presidency is to pick your rival for vp and unite the party.
