Definitely. Joba is perfect in the setup role right now. His gas and slider are a perfect combo. I would be interested to see how he would fare starting though, can't get by on gas alone. (as Beckett found out last season).
I hope Varitek lines one into Rogers nuts tonight and they explode.
yep, already been announced. Kennedy gets Mussina's next start

Thank God it's the Devil Rays. That's still AAA.
hah, i was thinking the same thing.
nice easy way to break into things.
though for some reason over the last few seasons the d-rays have had the sox number. amazing how many times a team that bad has beaten the sox.

can't we get pettite to convince him to come out of retirement? he's seems pretty good at that.
i bet he still has his hat.
fine
from fark:
Yankee fans having collective orgasm over rookie reliever Joba Chamberlain, leaving behind their tattered, stained photos of Kevin Maas, Shane Spencer, and Brien Taylor. Shelley Duncan weeps silently on the bench

The hitters arent triple A. The D Rays cant get anyone out, but its not a triple A lineup this rook is facing.
Dice K is still a rookie. He played in Japan, which is like the minors, but 13 so far and a 3.88 for a rookie is pretty good. And they didnt shell out all the money so that he would win 22 games this year. They did it so he would be a productive pitcher for the next 5. Still a rook, pitching pretty well overall for anyone, and he could have 16 wins if the Sox put up a 3 spot in even a couple of his losses.
And Mike Mussina hasnt done shit in his career but be a "good" pitcher. 20 win seasons? None. Cy Youngs? None Even close to a Cy? Cant think of a year. World Series appearances? Not even a sniff. Get off his nuts. Mike Mussina <<< Curt Schilling
Decisions Decisions
Put the bong down. The Brown Turd and Fucking Johnny did it again. "good" pitcher, indeed. Christ. If he was a little healthier, he would have been Greg Maddox. Smart, frustrating, really fucking precise.
What a wierd game tonight. Roger can't throw a strike yet has a no hitter go until the 6th. Beckett gets unlucky in the third with multiple dribblers that find holes in the infield. He gave up what, 14 hits and allowed 4 runs? When Tito brought him out for the 7th I seriously questioned that move. It was a miracle he got out of the 6th unscathed in the first place.
edit: to Benny
Beckett?
Did you watch the game tonight, Benny? I'm tired of debating people who don't watch the games.
I mean I love you and all, but if you didn't watch the game leave me alone.
THE YANKEES WIN, T-H-H-E-E-E-E-E-E YANKEES WIN!!!!

Oh, brother, if you had to use WCBS 88 (Traffic and Weather, Traffic and Weather...) to hear the games away from video or computer, your nose would bleed and your head would explode. Sterling/Waldman is a running joke amoungst the faithful. I think there's a few web sites detailing the stupidity.
holy fuck ice...go to bed.

I'm sure if you're not a diehard yankee fan you're not going to enjoy the YES crew.
Actually, you just might. I enjoy listening to guys like Kaat, Singelton, and Murcer.
Michael Kay, as far as an everyday play-by-play guy strictly for one team,
is fairly decent. His home team bias shows through at times, but it's hardly as
bad as some of the worst guys around the leauge.... You watch some games
and it's night and day, the overall mood of the broadcaster, depending on
if his team is winning or not.

Leiter and Kay can't stand each other.
But the best thing about having Yes over a "regular" network are the replays of the games. The game was on last night late after I got home from work, and it's on now. And they're well edited, so you don't have to sit through the nuthin' parts.
sweep.
here's praying that it starts a slide, but i assume the sox will take it out on baltimore
