Does Nettles bring a corked bat to the bar, too?

Also, I think that is the first time in the history of the universe that anyone has mentioned Mr. Superball in the same sentence as Brooks Robinson. That's shameful, even for a Yankee fan.

"During a brawl in a game against the Boston Red Sox in 1976, Nettles, who was on second base at the onset of the brawl, tackled Boston pitcher Bill Lee from behind. When it appeared that the dust had settled and the brawl was over, Lee confronted Nettles for tackling him from behind. The fracas resumed when Nettles swung at Lee. More players joined in the fray and Lee broke his collarbone when he went down in the pile. He was arguably never the same pitcher he was before the incident, though he continued to be a thorn in the Yankees' side for a few more years with Boston. However, the Yankees continued to win the division during this time and the incident added to the storied Yankees-Red Sox Rivalry."

True, but I was using this year's stats, which is only fair for A-Rod. He's had a few years to adapt to 3rd base, and I'm just saying that he's doing a hell of a job.

    Vladimir is on fire.

Ortiz really is ridiculous- was at the game last night, I didnt think his 2nd HR was going to come down. Side note- Pavilion standing room seats are awesome.

so how would you like your crow cooked BP?
I mean arent the yanke like .775 since the break?
And you still want to ditch A-rod too right?

    Red Sox Pitching?

Throwin this out there as a die hard Sox fan...really just looking for a coherent answer that quells my doubt:

Is anyone worried about our starting pitching? Given, we shorten the rotation to 3-4 guys in the playoffs, how do you see that when Oct. arrives?

    Beckett
    Schill
    Lester
    -------
    Dice-K
    Wake

They will not start Bucholz (pitch/inning count too high for season), and I wonder how Lester, Okie-Dokie, and Delcarmen will fair in the playoff atmosphere.

    Watcha got?

Tavarez will pitch every inning of every game. He's just gettin' warmed up.

I'm guessing Crow would come out nice soaked in Boog's barbeque sauce.

Hope we see [ech]Dice K[ech] more than once.

Obviously Beckett. Schilling and Dice K are the others. Not to say Im happy with Dice K's pitching lately, but he has pitched well over the course of the year and gotten some shoddy support. Wake hasnt had real good outings his last 2 starts, but was on fire before that. If he can get back to pitching like he did in August he should start.

Buchholz and Lester wont both be on the roster, I think. In addition to the other 4, Pap, Okajima, Gagne, Delcarmen, Timlin, Lopez, Tavarez. Maybe one of Buch/Lester if they carry 12 pitchers. What they need is Ellsbury on the playoff roster.

I'd be more concerned about Dice-K running out of gas. Isn't this the most he's pitched in his career? And don't the managers in the Japanese league utilize a 6 pitcher rotation?

Yeah good point. He has pitched a lot. Id say its a tossup between he and Wake, but it would be an international incident if he wasnt one of the 3. I dont think any team can match up top to bottom with the sox in pitching though.

While I think it unlikely the Yankees will catch the Sux, I ain't gonna raise the surrender flag just yet.
