I love seeing people freak about the weather. Everyone is leaving the office in a panic. Looks like another day "working from home" tomorrow.

Yeah, but the Whole Foods parking lot is going to be so messy. They just have to leave the office so they can make sure the SUV makes it through the slush.

But seriously, it is now sticking to the ice that lines my neighborhood. I imagine in standard Boulder fashion people will drive like crap, park even worse, and then get the SUV detailed after the snow stops.

There'll be nothing like another 20 inches on top of the 6" of ice on our streets here. Our street is like a mogul field right now.

I'm pretty sure it's a gen X / gen Y thing that came about when they started "busing" kids to school back in the 70's which in turn spawned "snow days." On the other hand I am quite certain granpa was the last to walk to school, uphill (both ways), barefoot in snow up to his waist.

I just talked to some friends who spent 2 hours getting from the tunnel to Georgetown east bound. They said it is a total mess and west bound is a complete parking lot. So, while it may be "open" that does not mean moving.

Those that brave it, good luck. I think I will roll the dice early, early in the morning.

It looks like they downgraded the snowfall predictions for the Gore and Elk Range, so I'm passing on Aspen tonight.

It looks like front range resorts tomorrow for me. I'm with telechuck, I'll brave it in the morning.

Was WB a parking lot through Georgetown or all the way down past Idaho Springs? Was going to try and make it up to Winter Park, but might decide against it after hearing that.

Looks like pretty slow going on CDOT's traffic cam at the Empire exit:

They were just past Georgetown, east bound. They were going 5 mph and were psyched on that. West bound was not moving at that point. Down lower, who knows. Take a piss bottle, some music, some food and a sleeping bag and you should be fine.

Forecast only calls for 4-7" for the front range through tomorrow morning... might be a better bet to leave then.

Two thoughts: I am jealous of you CO mags for getting all this snow and all the good skiing up there.

I am NOT jealous, however, of the fact that I-70/25 will be/already is an absolute mess. Nothing better than sitting on 70 eastbound near Georgetown knowing you have miles and miles to go

We will need a lot more snow for that to happen, but if it comes may try to get out somewhere around Golden.

I'm serious ... best front range road lap potential?

Golden might be a good call - rock skis, 2+ feet ... lap it up?

I just got back from Loveland. Started snowing at 2 inches per hour at 10 am with no let up in sight. Definitely going to be epic tomorrow. Another piece of energy is supposed to dive on the backside of the low tomorrow night revamping snow.

    BTW, 70 is a shitshow.

Fuck man, I can never tell whether your posts are serious or not.

2 inches an hour at 10am? I wonder why CSCUSA didn't update their 2pm report.

Why would I be fucking with you guys? It wasn't 2 inches per hour at 10 am, but when I left Loveland at 2pm, there was a good eight inches already on the ground.

Or edit to add, I wasn't touching any bottom when making turns. And that is consistent with what NOAA was callign for today with 4-8 and another 11-17 tonight.
