My wife's Frontier flight has already been cancelled. It was supposed to arrive DIA at 9:30pm.

Really? Shit, I better go check on the gf's friends flights.

Maybe if there's no hope at all for them, I can convince her to head up this afternoon and let them fend for themselves.

EDIT: sorry to hear that Fritz.

I just want to reiterate how much I hate you all right now.

I will be eagerly awaiting pictures tomorrow night. Best of luck with the cancelled flights, Yoss! (I hope that's not bad karma to say that...)

Come on CDOT, keep it open a bit longer.

We are hoping to get out of Boulder around 4 and get to Summit. Lets see if CDOT can keep it open into the evening when things really pickup. If not, we do the super early departure tomorrow morning or just head to Eldora or super secret spots in RMNP (could be slow though as the angle is low and predicted snow fall high)

Well Yoss, if it helps, I'm in a similiar situation. I was planning on going up to Summit this afternoon to avoid the impending shit show and set myself up to strategically hit the dumpage. Unfortunately, it looks like the shit show started without me.

One snow flake and the entire front range goes to hell.

There's always 285 and 9. Might be the way to go tonight.

    Still coming down up here.

Doh! I70 closed at Gtown. Lets see if they can recover and get it open again.

I fear CDOT may just go in to lock down.

Yoss... We are very disapointed in your failure to teach those around you the number one rule concerning powder day etiquette.

Girlfriend, girlfriends friends... If there's a friend in there, it don't matter. No friends on a powder day!

    HA! Right on man!

Thanks Goze, hopefully it'll all work out.

I mean, I am sure it'll work out, I just think I'm gonna get hosed, i.e., end up not being able to get out in time to get out, then end up waiting for the friend's on Friday/Saturday because at that point, it's the reasonable thing to do, and as a result, get no skiing in.

Oh well, can't win em all!

Hey Chuck, you think the super early AM friday thing would work? Basically just get out there before there's any shitshow, even if the road conditions aren't great? Snow is fine - 4x4 jeep w/blizzaks - it's the other drivers that fuck everything up!

Or Eldora in the morning. Not sure how much time I am willing to commit to sitting in the car tonight.

If it stays a mess tonight, that is our plan. Like a 5:30 departure from Boulder to avoid traffic. This however all relies on CDOT keeping roads open, which is touch and go.

This plan has worked in the past and if we have to use it, hopefully works again. If not, Eldora or RMNP. Sometimes sucks to be a cube jockey on the Front Range.

Oh... almost forgot to flip a large bird to everyone living west of Eisenhower tunnel (particularly in these upslope situations). So here you go:

I'm just going to go outside and look at the flat muggy swamp now. Bastards.

    I hate this part.

    Stay and gamble
    or
    Leave and gamble

who can say. Got fucked the last time around by the double pass closure but this time around that might not be such a problem provided 70 or 285 is open. :/

How much do you 'spose the ski train could make in times like this if they hooked some flatbeds on for folks to put thier autos on?
