For those that don't know Haaretz is a left-wing oppositional newspaper with about 4-percent readership in Israel. Its English edition is more influential with foreign observers. A lot of Haaretz' reporting wildly misses the mark. Their worldview is “everything is malice” when in reality a lot of it is incompetence and more often than not wrong. Its editorial stance is mainly based on opposition to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.

There's nothing wrong with opposing Netanyahu and his government. And its existence is proof Israeli media is freer than any other in the region. Their reporting even lead to one of the criminal cases against Netanyahu. And their reporting speaks loudly for the hostages. But Haaretz is like a leftwing Fox News in the sense that they don't typically make things up, but instead leave out context and important details.

Also important to mention Haaretz in English contains a lot of Hebrew translation errors which oftentimes has soldiers saying things that they really didn't

    50 years to the day

Haaretz has the 3rd highest readership in Israel? Behind Israel Hayom (a right wing free daily) and Yedioth Ahronoth (the centrist daily mass market paper of Israel)….

Things like military orders etc. A recent example in Hebrew that should have translated as "warning shorts" was instead translated as "shoot at"

Haaretz is also fairly left leaning.

Of course, you do. But that doesn't change the fact an important detail was mistranslated from Hebrew to English because the Hebrew version didn't make the same claims

@ bodywhomper, 3rd behind the papers with much larger circulations. Keep in mind Israel is a small country about the size of New Jersey

Yeah, warning shots with artillery near aid stations.

Maybe they mistranslated it to English and then translated it back to Hebrew before giving it to the soldiers?

The IDF already changed that policy before the article. Important context left out of Haaretz reporting is that Hamas was inciting crowds towards Israeli positions and then planting IEDs or even attacking soldiers disguised as civilians. In one of several instances just last week a male Hamas terrorist dressed up as a women in a dress wearing a headscarf and then dropped an explosive into an APC's open hatch killing 7 soldiers. Haaretz claims troops aren't in any danger even though they clearly are

Yeahbut you'd be saying that whoever was the PM of Israel, because you don't think Israel has a right to exist.

Uh oh, you’ve reached “it’s antisemitism all the way down!!!” Might wanna get back on your meds

Also, right to exist doesn’t mean what you think it means. You know Palestine has a right to exist too.

Fuck off HA, anyone who is the least bit critical of Israel is branded an anti-Semite when nothing could be further from the truth.

@JC, no they want to scatter the Palestinian people to the 4 winds and take Gaza and the West Bank to create a larger and more prosperous Israel. One that will live under siege and in a constant state of asymmetrical war. But the development possibilities are the best and most beautiful, ever.

Gaza was independent. Gazans were not scattered to the wind. For 18 years, Hamas turned every basic need in Gaza into a profit scheme. They stole the fuel paid for by the Palestinian Authority and left people in darkness. They sold medicine and medical supplies from hospitals. They stole humanitarian aid and resold it at inflated prices. They took over aid convoys and blocked any initiative they didn't run. They robbed public clinics, exploiting people’s pain for money.

No effort , no donation, no act of Israeli or international goodwill escaped their corruption—so that Hamas could benefit from it. Then they took the world's generosity and used to wage war

Trump's Gaza-laga scheme was either an offhand senseless comment or a negotiating tactic. Back to reality, "Trump urged Iran-backed Hamas militants on Tuesday to agree to what he called a "final proposal" for a 60-day ceasefire with Israel in Gaza that will be delivered by mediating officials from Qatar and Egypt."

Israel has agreed to the conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire. Hamas has not. Hamas says it is willing to free remaining hostages in Gaza under any deal to end the war, while Israel says it can only end if Hamas is disarmed and dismantled. Hamas refuses to lay down its arms.

Also in a similar move as North Korea, Iran announced the suspension of cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

I said Hamas supporters constantly demanding a ceasefire lose their hearing when there's an actual ceasefire on the table

Bunion if you are going to ignore someone, then do it. Don't act like a elementry school child on the playground with your fingers in your ears shouting "I can't hear you!"

MV isn't a bot. You don't have to like him or agree with him. But if you don't agree, you should be able to reason why.

I don't have JC on ignore. I don't have CE on ignore. Opposite ends.

I only ignore BDJ because he is incessantly stupid whether or not what he says is otherwise agreeable.

More dizzying displays of logic. You have managed to wrestle yourself into a tie.

Help me out a little bit. Since he is on ignore and this site is so fucked up the only way to see a post by someone on ignore is to take them off ignore, is he asking me additional questions or attempting his particular style of informercial?
