Iran says it will remove surveillance cameras from its nuclear facilities. The situation isn’t over. Iran’s ability to enrich, convert uranium are badly damaged, but others parts of the program remain. Importantly, Iran’s ability to store its stockpile of some 400 kilograms (900 pounds) of nearly bomb-grade uranium remains intact. The main thing is the Iranian government hasn't suddenly become more set on getting nukes. They are already set on it, they can’t be made more so. The carrot is sanctions relief and the stick is Israeli air strikes. Iran needs to show that it is done with terrorism, the nuclear weapons program, and the missile program before it gets sanctions relief

See if you can find a post about your mother's brother Robert and how good he was at regime change, aka how easy that is to do. Or don't. No one really cares.

Thanks for taking the time to tell everyone for the umpteenth time all about not taking the time. What I'd like to know is what's Jono on about:

Hey Jono, is this one of those riddles where A father and his son are in a car accident [...] When the boy is in the hospital, the surgeon says: This is my child, I cannot operate on him because bob's his uncle? The correct answer is the surgeon is the boy's mother. The riddle is a play on gender stereotypes, not regime change

It does help a bit if you read his posts in the voice of Vizzini from the Princess Bride

Funny, to me you guys sound like Cono in the Ukraine thread—always a distant voice in the back of your heads going, "Oh, shit", like a car alarm, in the middle of the night. I mean, you have to admit WWIII turned out to be a lot less scary than you thought right?

Well, yeah, everyday someone talking about a boots on the ground invasion of Iran. I never understood why people think that's going to happen? Speaking of, what do you think Jimmy Carter would say about all of this?

US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites were less devastating than Tehran expected, according to intercepted phone calls between senior Iranian officials.
In conversations overheard by the US and leaked to the Washington Post, the officials speculated as to why the attacks were not as destructive and extensive as anticipated.
The Trump administration did not deny the existence of the calls, and criticised the newspaper for publishing the information. “It’s shameful that the Washington Post is helping people commit felonies by publishing out of context leaks,” said Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary.
Damn leakers............

The Washington Post "leak" was discussed here last week. It received U.S. coverage. Israelis, for example, said the next day:

"An Israeli official with direct knowledge of intelligence on Iran told Axios that intercepted communications suggest Iranian military officials have been giving false situation reports to the country's political leadership — downplaying the extent of the damage."

Whether that's true or not it seems the Washington Post should have discussed that aspect of the story

That’s pretty nonsensical to me. Of course they can become more motivated to develop nukes. This isn’t a binary scale. If Iran had been trying to develop nukes with near total focus and motivation they would have developed a nuke long ago.

Yours is a low info response. A lot of people are projecting their beliefs about Iraq onto Iran without understanding the issue. The Iranian regime massively scaled up its nuclear weapons program in the past couple of years. mcski even posted a chart showing the ramp up that occurred during the second half of the Biden administration. And the International Atomic Energy Agency sounded the alarm months ago.
