There's one statistic buried in the numbers that I'd live to know. What has all this done to the numbers for US travelers who use Canadian airports to travel to US destinations? I know there at least used to be a fair number of VTers and Upstaters who use the Montreal airport to get to US destinations. Do folks do that elsewhere? Washington folks using Vancouver to get somewhere in the US?

Trump sez he talked to " Mark " today as opposed to the governor of Canada the start of something beautiful I think and when they meet in person Don will offer Mark his hind quarters

For US destinations, it's not super common. Going up to YVR for an international flight is more common.

I've heard of Canadians flying out of worshington but I think you should believe that 70% figure and accept that Canadians are choosing to give America a pass

USA is becoming persona non grata world wide but do not worry Trump is on it

People from my province would quite often travel to Maine for US flights. Flights were usually and more direct so sometimes the trip would be cheaper and shorter. I doubt that will continue.

Reached for comment Friday, a White House spokesperson said by email that “everybody wants to come to President Trump’s America.”

Canadians “will no longer have to endure the inconveniences of international travel when Canada becomes our [emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji637]st state”

I still see them daily as well, but I wouldn't put much into it. Some had already booked a vacation or bought a season pass and don't want to lose the sunk costs. Some are visiting relatives (my family extends all the way from San Diego to Vancouver). Some are right-leaning or apolitical.

No, Trackhead isn't "gonna be like".......

I have the cognitive ability and reasoning capability to understand that the choice of a politician does not reflect the choice of a population. Canadian politicians have demonstrated that same capability.

I wonder if he's posting on an iPhone / mac. He could prove his anti American company sentiments by not posting so much.

Meh, I don't take XXXers generalizations about americans personally. I do it myself about americans. A majority of american voters wanted this shit, even if not a majority of citizens, it's a fuck ton of people that really, really suck.

Canada essentially fucked themselves and many predicted this a long time ago when they signed the free trade agreement.

“We built a country east and west and north,” said Liberal leader John Turner during the key TV debate. “We built it on an infrastructure that deliberately resisted the continental pressure of the United States. For 120 years we’ve done it. With one signature of a pen, you’ve reversed that, thrown us into the north-south influence of the United States and will reduce us ... to a colony of the United States, because when the economic levers go, political independence is sure to follow.”

True. We were under the impression that treaties would be honoured. Our bad.

Canada will be fine and become larger trade partners with China - it’s the US who are screwing themselves. I never believed California would ever try to secede in the past but at this point nothing will surprise me.

Lee, true. Agreed. Yet you made a bed with the devil.

Canada hardly walks on water in terms of treaty violations. Nor does the U.S. we both have a bad habit of violating them against First Nations people as Canada has done, and the U.S. Citations are hardly necessary.
