He wants Canada just so that once combined with the current US, he can be the leader of the world's biggest country!

Actually 46 percent of Canadians could see themselves in the EU. Maybe we could become the Atlantic union if you get that number higher? That would piss trump off. Honestly though I'd really like some association....like with Norway or Switzerland.

Cono would lose his mind if you'd come to the communist EU.

Unsure of how far back it was but on the CBC morning show they interviewd a guy from the Gallup poll who said they ask these exact same questions for last 26 years and in that time Canadians have polled more like Northern euro's while Americans have just got more conservative and then my favorite

Gallup guy said more than 50 percnt of Americans think its treason to question or dis the president and then adds

whereas in Canada it is a test of your intelligence

Incorrect. Trump got only 49.8% of the total votes.

I thought in retrospect I should have qualified that majority with *SLIM*, but I was being a bit hyperbolic. You are of course correct though, 49.8% to 48.3%. Pretty slim but still WAY too many, uggh.

Honestly more pissed at folks who didn’t vote when everything about Trump was laid bare than those who voted for him. It’s the non voters that got us in this position.

who cares what the tariffs currently are, most Canadians certainly don't GAF at this point as we're well into voluntarily and aggressively boycotting of USA products altogether, regardless.

April fools day has been extended - it’s now a 48 hour holiday. MAGA!

Even if the tariffs were erased today the relationship has been soured - somewhat from the tariff flip flops (on a deal Trump signed himself) but more so from all the “Canada is a failed state and needs to be taken over by America - by whatever means necessary. And yeah Panama and Greenland too.”

All the “relax it’s just a prank bro” bros would be losing their shit if some other country said such things towards the US.

From what I can tell it is only steel/aluminum currently? He paused all USMCA compliant goods until April 2nd.

So right now it's aluminum and steel only, I think. That doesn't seem like the end of the world by any means. From an objective viewpoint anyway, excluding the emotional aspect of calling a Prime Minister of a sovereign nation a Governor and all that other shit.

    * U.S. Tariffs on Canada:
    * The U.S. has imposed 25% tariffs on various Canadian goods, and 10% tariffs on Canadian energy exports.
    * Additionally, the U.S. has placed 25% tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum products.
    * There are also new tariffs on all auto imports going into affect on April 2nd.

Right, but what goods? I wish there was somewhere you could find objective facts. It’s like smoke and mirrors.

We’ve all expressed our opinions, at this point it’s beating a dead horse.

Interesting that Premiere Ford wanted/wants to kick Mexico out of CUSMA because they’ve become a backdoor agent for a flood of Chinese auto parts that Ford acknowledges endangers viability of Canadian auto parts industry. Nationalism isn’t mutually exclusive to the United States.

If it's not an exempted item then it's tariffed. There is a list maintained by the US but it changes daily.

I kind of feel for you Americans. You have no agency and are so truly fucked. There is no way out of this that I can see for the USA.

Canada, EU, SK, Japan, rest of world. It'll be rough no doubt but there's a light. Some way out.
