Hmmm ….i think all my raw Pivots are the GW version. So maybe that’s why I didn’t get the 5mm shims with them. Thanks!

Any folks have the BC110 and the BC 120? Love my 120 - juggling between the BC100 or 110 as well. 100 makes sense for less overlap but 110 makes sense for more versatility as a single travel ski. Folks feel that the 110 and 120 are too similar to warrant both?

Also curious about people's thoughts and experiences on the BC110 and BC120. Really between these two skis and the Deathwish Tours. I know the DWTs and 110s would be the more versatile skis but the 120 just speaks to my heart

I can speak to the DWT and 120 a bit as I had a DWT for a bit. It you’re talking soft snow, 120 no question. The rocker profile plus slightly more rearward mount (even if you mount it +1 or 2) just floats better. It can slarve or make long arcing turns with ease.

DWT is maybe a bit more pivoty due to the mount point, will give you a better edge on firm snow, but in anything soft I preferred the 120 by far. Honestly I’d say all of this likely is true for a DWT and BC110 comparison, just with a bit less of a noticeable difference in float (but still present).

Cross posted from the Lotii thread for posterity. R120 ST. Hard to see in shitty garage light, but the super dark purple makes me happy. 192.3 cennies straight pull, 2728/2744 metric units of mass. Profile strapped at rec. And 115 brakes…tight, but 130s were whack.

Here’s my Heritage Lab R120 Swallowtails mounted with black STH 16’s. My 180 R120 ST’s are mounted at 83cm straight pull from tail (179.5cm straight pull ski) which puts me at -6.75cm. About 1cm further back than my FR110’s which are -5.8cm.

I now own 3 pairs of Heritage Lab skis (the HB122, R120, FR110) and with AM100’s on the way I think that will be the perfect 4-ski inbounds quiver.

I’ve kinda stopped looking at other skis…..Marshal you have freed up many hours a week for me.

The R120 ST’s are so sweet lookin’ in person!

The 193 is 200-250g heavier than the 187s. I bumped the core up a bit on the 193, as a "normal" step up in size is more like 100-125g +/-.

IMO they are PUUUURRRFECT.

I have yet to hear from any HL skiers thus far thinking the Freeride build is heavy/sluggish on snow, but if that feedback is out there, please let me know. Cheers!

Thanks for delivering responsive skis with mass. If they start to feel heavy, I know I'm not skiing fast enough.

First day on the R120 yesterday on Blackcomb.

Morning was a few laps on gear jammer skiing the previous days 40cm of semi skied out bumps with the days 15cm on top. Bashed through the soft bumps real well, awesome suspension especially for a reverse ski. Pivoted well and tail was supple and forgiving, but there when needed. I felt like I could feel the swallow tail flexing.

After a couple hours in the wizard zone setting up the ski out I managed to ditch 'work' and get into spankys for a lap. It wasn't open the previous day so 50+cm in there. Not blower, but pretty damn dry for the coast. Tips planed up and any turn shape was on tap.

At the end of the day skiing out chopped groomers they were equally impressive, and pretty fun. As mentioned the suspension is top class, as is the tune. They gripped really well on scraped off sections and will for sure be an awesome 'all day' type pow ski that doesn't need to be changed out at lunch.

The fr110 thread has mentions of 'video game skiing'. I think that translates up to it's bigger brother too.

I'm no ski reviewer, but I'll say a few words about the R120 ST...

It was not the day for a ski 120 mm underfoot. Hell, it honestly wasn't a day for 100 mm! But since I'm unsure how much skiing my knee will allow this season (see: "Total Knee Replacement" thread), I knew I wanted to at least feel these puppies out.

Intuitive is an understatement. From the first turn they felt natural, as if I had been skiing this shape for years. Immediately revved them up and charged down some soft groomers. With just a roll of the ankle, I was carving huge GS arcs. A ski this wide has no business making such turns. I drove the tips and they happily responded to as much shin pressure as I could muster, feeling lively and quick, but always planted and smoothing everything out. I think I was most impressed how they allowed me to cleanly finish each turn. I kept thinking about how little brother R110 must absolutely rail, and how my wife is going to love her pair (and how I might need a pair of my own!).

Searched out the softest stuff I could find, and again, just press the "EASY" button. Such a solid platform. Can't wait to get them in deeper snow, and in fact, I have at least two other skis that I can't imagine ever reaching for again.

I think I nailed the mount point, as well, although I believe the sweet spot is huge. I'm at -8.25 (81.5) and I was able to drive the shovel as hard as I wanted, but also ski them from the middle of my foot. Felt ridiculously nimble for a beast of a ski (my pair happily came in overweight), and I think my thoughts on mp will carry over into the deep snow, as well.

I don't think I stopped smiling all morning.

I second the initiative feeling. A lot of the day I forgot I was on a new ski, it just did what I wanted as soon as I thought it.

Rob, Mind me asking where you mounted? Sounds like we ski similarly and have the same local. Cheers.

-8.75. The farthest back that MO recommended. I'm a pretty traditional skier and like my soft snow skis to have a floaty tip. Probably because I really learnt to ski pow on the lotus 120. I like my volkls, my katana is at +2 and BMT 109 on the line so about -10 to -12 but have been skiing, and liking, more hard snow orientated skis a bit more forward. Mantra 102 and Kendos at +2 so about -9cm.

So far the r120 is going well at that mount, I was a bit worried about tip float but I'm forcing myself to move with the times. So far so good.

Was out heli bombing this morning and got dropped off on phalanx to 'dig a pit' aka ski s-turn. Needless to say the r120's got their first heli ride and skied perfectly even though the snow ranged from completely scoured, through wind board and Avi debris to 20cm of cake down near the bottom.

(1) at this time of year the tracking info rarely gets updated by the carriers before the package actaully arrives and (2) I have about 25 pair of skis pre-staged in the queue remaining to finish prep and get shipped. They will all be shipped by Monday (unless specifically requested to hold til after the holidays).

Hit me up any time to check on your individual set.

Boots tecnica zero g tour pro/intuition tour wrap

Skier: 42years, 96kg in boxers, skied past 20 years around 100 days per season. Now days mostly touring, no lifts close. Kinda old school style. I like ski active and not just slarve around.

I have now about 10 touring days on them. Couple of days powder tree skiing, couple of days on wind crust, 10cm dust on ice and one super duper hyper awesome 1200 vertical hero settled pow run.

Powder/soft snow: Awesome as expected. Does what you want and nothing else. Pivots faster than thought in trees. Stomps nicely medium sized airs that I dare to take.

Wind affected snow: makes sink through wind affected snow easily skiable. I think on thinner waist & normal camber these days would have been more survival skiing. Still early season, so speeds have been moderate at best on variable snow. I think they will work even better as soon we get more snow & light and get rid of the sharks which equals more speed.

Ice & hard snow: well it's full rocker ski and 120mm middle. It's does get you down, but there are more suitable skis for these conditions. But it does perform well enough to be taken out everytime there's possibility for soft snow. Or you know that top part of mountain is awesome and low part not that good.
