    2. You cannot eat more calories than you burn off so the only really healthy way lose to weight is to simply eat less. If you cannot do that without drugs you've got head problems as well as physical ones.
    1. GLP-1’s blockers are statistically better than anything else at getting people to lose weight and keep it off. The health markers improve massively for obese people on these drugs. What evidence do you have that they don’t improve health? This isn’t my opinion it’s based on overwhelming evidence. Even after coming off the drugs between 30-55% of people keep a significant portion of the weight off. https://www.webmd.com/obesity/news/2...unds-off-study which is way better than the general public after they diet.

    2. What’s the most weight you’ve ever had to lose? Have you ever had to lose 100lbs? That’s a deficit of 350,000 calories while your body fights you most of the way down. 85-90% of people regain the weight they lose when not using these drugs, and diets unaided by drugs are less likely to result in as much weight loss in the first place. You insist people just need to eat less calories than they burn but that is something that is inarguably difficult to do based on the data. Yet you insist these people are mentally ill or weak. Your plan is almost completely ineffective based on the data yet you insist it is the proper way.

McDonald’s was so good in my youth. Now I can only eat the egg McMuffin. The rest is trash.

I will not deny that Ozempic is beneficial to many patients, but I am afraid that it is soon going to be prescribed on a huge scale to over a hundred million obese people in this country. Common Ozempic side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation, upset stomach, heartburn, burping, gas, bloating, loss of appetite, runny nose or sore throat, stomach flu symptoms or headache, dizziness, and tiredness. Imagine what it would be like to be 100 lbs. overweight and then subject yourself to this for an extended period of time. Regardless of the weight loss statistics I find it hard to believe that the end result is overall good health.

No one becomes morbidly obese overnight, and getting there is an entirely self-inflicted process. There is only one way to get fat and that is by putting food and drink in your mouth, and doing it for years after you are already obese and experiencing the adverse effects of your condition. Continuing to self-inflict weight gain is a conscious self destructive process. You must admit that this does not happen without a screwed up mindset. My life long experience does not allow me to believe that if you make an obese person skinny you have also magically and simultaneously altered the mental state that caused the problem, or inspired them to change.

We have a serious weight problem in this country and drugs can be a useful tool in some cases, but Ozempic is being represented as a get out of jail free card. I can eat anything I want and then just take a pill to negate the negative results. That's the same reasoning that gave us the vomitorium.

Interesting opinion. Latin is not your thing though. Very common.

I flunked Latin and that led to meeting my wife. Google works.

So did I miss the plan to change our entire farm economy and find a way for people working 2 jobs to get to the gym? I'd be all ears. If I want to become a Gold Medal ski racer all I have to do is go faster, right? Can't argue that. But we both know there is more to it than wanting to go faster.

Anyway IMO opinion this all started with power windows and electric garage door openers. The slippery slope.

so, the positive health outcomes of a substance are totally negated if the manufacturer of that substance could obtain profit for its labors?

So an appetite suppressant that lets people eat whatever they want is a get out of jail free card. Does your newsletter discuss ectopic pregnancy much?

Are you unaware of the ongoing discussion of how Ozempic users weren’t aware that once they got their weight down they might be lifelong injectors of it?

Oh ok we stumbled across the problem here - you don’t actually understand at all how Ozempic works nor how it is prescribed nor how common the side effects are nor how the pros and cons are discussed amongst adults of even average intelligence.

But despite all that you have some strongly held views about it. Fascinating.

with might being the key operative word there.

still cheaper than managing obesity related diseases and with the added benefit of a vastly better quality of life.

sounds like a reasonable trade off.

You better ease up, you are really starting to sound like a shill for the drug companies. You are not only a self-appointed expert and opinion arbtrator, but now you are claiming psychic powers with your knowledge of what I know and understand.

The apple pies that were deep fried in beef fat were pretty good as well.

When I loved in Japan in the 90s, Lotteria was still frying in beef tallow or at least, some kind of animal fat. TBH, I always thought they tasted like bacon. They were good but even in my twenties, a little too savory to eat very many.
