    Damn boots

Appreciate all the beta here and the work others have done to make templates available. Just finished mounting Salomon MTNs to a new pair of Zero G 105s. Template and mount is perfect, but damn my boots are warped. Pic 1 is after tweaking slightly to align the rear pins. Pic 2 is swapping left and right ski. This is why I always label my skis left and right.

PSA: Mount your own fucking skis.

yeah I haz the jiggyrex plate

    mounting is easy

forward pressure AND toe height adjustment can be finicky - be aware of this if you switch boots

    they’re a clever design
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

I found toe height to (also) be finicky...

Mounting up my kids skis, Rossi Black Ops Smashers. Dumb question for the experts out there.... I assume the raised mark labelled "0" in the pic below would be considered on the line, standard recommended mount point? Not sure what the third raised mark is up and to the right? thanks.

They are Salomon Stage Gripwalk 11.
    What pattern/template do they have?
Salomon Stage Gripwalk 11 matches up to Warden 11 template.
    Toes are 40mm x 65mm
    Heel track 30mm x 80.

Is Knut's template confirmed? If so the Shift Binding Layout tool is ready for printing:

I did 2 sets of Shifts this year. On the first pair I got spinners on that front screw of the toe unit. Don't know why--I have mounted lots alpine binders without ever having a spinner. Anyway, I used epoxy in that front screw hole from then on. Been skiing them since without issue.

you mean the 3rd raised line on the right? That makes sense. So, should I mount on the "0"?

Yes on zero. And I agree that it's either cord or true center. Cord center is archaic for mounting -- never heard of it being used for mounting besides tele skiers from the early 1990s. Best guess anyway.

Hahaha, true center (from a tele skier from The early 90s)... Carry on.

Chord center was used by Volkl(schuhschpitz line-boot tip) and K2(I believe Pre and RD too) with the graduated scale that corresponded to bsl, during that time period

    ^^^^

Which I think is the correct way to mount but to confusing for stoner shop techs (no offense meant to the professional stoned techs…I mean your typical 16 year old seasonal tech)

This is good to know for future.... I'm assuming the epoxy bond on the spinner screw is weak enough to break in the future if you ever need to remove the binders?
