Shocking, just shocking, that ProBikeSupply did that. I've tried ordering stuff from them twice that was listed as in-stock, only to find out it was not in stock. I ignore them in search results now.

Credit where it's due, they refunded me within minutes of sending them an email. But yeah, it showed as in-stock when I paid.

Just checking, but thru axles aren't supposed to look like this right? lol. Check out the cracks on what is sticking out of the hub. It's like that all the way around. I think I'll be upgrading to the steel version. Stans Neo 12 x 148 fwiw.

Glad I found this in the garage and not miles in the backcountry!

Yeah I know. I've blown up a couple Stans hubs before. But this one came on my Spur which I was very fortunate to get. Will replace the axle for now, but definitely on the lookout for something with a DT 350.

Does Stan's have a steel axle option?

If I'm selling a headset (Cane Creek 110), do I need to remove the crown race (carefully) from the fork (which is going on new build, coming with CK) or is the buyer of the headset or headset/frame better off getting a new crown race?

Yes, I believe it needs to be included in the sale, after all, you can’t use the headset without one. Unless the customer has a CC crown or has been informed of this, IMO.

I bent mine and that's what they said they sent as a replacement (I didn't test it before I installed it). Contact Stan's before you buy a new one, evdog. They replaced my axle and complete freehub body with bearings quickly and basically no questions asked.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    Ask the experts

I have a few contacts w Stans if you’re in a pinch, they’re usually pretty responsive though IME like bagtagley said.

Hi, this is a reminder that hackers have been getting into accounts with stale old passwords and causing mayhem scamming people in gear swap.

Update your passwords, be wary in gear swap, report suspect activity!

Speaking of tools, have you seen this guy's project for wheel building? A friend sent it to me yesterday.

Ya, that’s a nice set up.
My digital tension meter is capable of using an output plug, that can be triggered by a foot pedal, to record the tension into a building software.
I love building wheels, but you can’t make money doing it, you need to have a high volume, and be super effect.
You can buy quality wheels cheaper than you can buy the hubs, rims, spokes and nipples.
