I’m not sure but it costs like $278 Canadian to correct

Aenomaly SwitchGrade, basically a 3-position quick release seatpost clamp that allows you to tip the angle of the saddle by +10 and -10. Details here.
Seems like it could be useful for rides that involve long steep grinds and long downhills.
Weight penalty is about 100g with some added stack on post. Price is definitely on the steep end of things but at this point who's counting...
I see those in the bottom of people’s tool boxes in a few years, as dusty as e13 chain guides and hopey steering dampers, long forgotten and with no value.

Come on, it hasn't been that long since you had a DH bike. There's a reason DH pros run their seats nose up, and not slammed all the way down to the collar. It's nice having a seat there to steady yourself/the bike against with your leg, and having the seat nose up makes it "effectively" lower (from the perspective of getting off the back of the bike) while still letting you do that. And having it angled up means you're less prone to getting hung up on the back of the seat when you're getting way off the back of the bike.

I've been spending some time on one, and I honestly don't use the nose down climbing mode much. But I do like the nose up descending one. I've got it paired with a 210 drop OneUp post, and like that better than the new 240 drop OneUp without a Switchgrade (which I can clear on the same bike). And it's not because I'm sitting down on the descent.

I'm not going to argue if anybody says they can't justify the cost. They aren't cheap, and that call is between you and your bank account. But from a purely performance standpoint I'd absolutely rather have one than not, at least on a big enduro bike that I'm doing winch and plummet type stuff on.

Quick question for Di2 experts. Can I take the wireless connector thing off of one bike and temporarily connect it to another so I can program the shifter buttons with the app? My understanding is that the battery is the brain, so it would retain settings. I'd just try it out but I have to unwrap a bar to get to it so don't want to bother if it's hopeless.

    First world problems.

Yes the EW-WU111, EW-WU101 or SC-MT800 bluetooth transmitter can be swapped between bikes.
Make sure its firmware is updated on the bluetooth transmitter before you remove it.
You are correct the that the brain is in the battery, the older battery did not support the bluetooth connecter, you need a BT-DN110 or newer battery for the bluetooth to work.
I have 2 bikes with older batteries (pre 2016) that I cannot update with the bluetooth app.

Thanks, nice to read some actual feedback!

The rest of you guys are acting like you've never burned $$ on bike parts with somewhat questionable real-world utility. Come on now...
I do put my ass on my seat on occasion when riding downhill and I sure as fuck get an angry lower back whenever I grind my way up a dirt road for 2+ hours (which happens not infrequently). I could see this thing being nice to have for a variety of reasons, and if it sucks it's something I'd leave on the bike and forget about. $250 ain't cheap but comparing price-to-benefit ratio against something like a high flow presta valve, the other latest and greatest innovation in MTBing, I don't find this thing to be far off the mark.

Tilting it down 10* for a steep climb? That seems like it would be almost unbearable on my ass after just a few pedal strokes.

I don't mean to complicate your decision making process, but if you're interested, for only $100 I'd be willing to bolt a 1/4 pound of weight to your bike that you can leave on there and forget about. For an extra $50, I'll even come up with a technical sounding reason why that dead weight is absolutely necessary for proper enduro-ing.

Yeah I run my seats essentially dead level. I cannot fathom wanting to drop the nose on steep climbs. At that point, I'm sliding forward onto the nose to try and get higher / more over the BB. Dropping the nose would shorten the distance from my butt to the BB, and make things worse, not better.

    Noted.
I'll probably buy one out of spite and post weekly glowing reviews on here to make myself feel superior to you guys with your fixed seats and 100g lighter bikes

dropped nose i don't see much and its usually a bad position that thro's ones weight on the hands

I tried flat cuz everything i read said go flat but when I went back to nose high the road coach said my position looked better on the bike with the seat slightly nose high so its slightly nose high for me but YMMV as they say

Too far nose down and your hands go numb. Too far nose up and your dick goes numb. But for only $280, you can install a 100 gram toggle switch under your seat that'll allow you decide which part of your body is numb on the fly.

To counteract the added weight of that contraption, I have available for purchase a set of light and very reliable Onza elastomer pedals.

My lovely wife still runs a rockshox suspension post on her singlespeed hardtail. Which also has purple anodized bits on it.

    It’s like a rolling way-back machine.

I’d way rather have your $100 weight than move my seat nose. At this point I’ll bet the majority of people in this thread can tell if their saddle is off 2mm in any direction within 30 seconds of jumping on their bike. It would drive me fucking nuts to have it moving around.

Edit: and as a guy who is still trying to figure out how to do carbon repair on 99gram selle italia flute evo 2 saddle, I clearly am more than happy to waste money on nuts with questionable utility. Just sayin

If Boissal manages to get an entire saddle stuck in his ass, the NSFW thread discussion will have some more great material.

Been trying for a while but didn't have the proper angle. Now with that contraption I think my chances of success are really good!
