Finally got a Swiss K1911 that I have always wanted, pics do not do justice to the quality of these fine rifles.
Its really a K1896 that was re barreled to the 7.5x55 round and they also added the wrist swell.
I hope to find a K31, for a decent price, one of these days also.

The straight pull design of the Swiss rifles has always interested me.

I would count myself as being one of the more mature and responsible gun owners here so maybe you could rephrase the requirements for welcomness. Do I need to be of a mind to weep a bit of smegma upon seeing gun pics to enter a gun discussion here? Is this thread meant to be like the "jock" table in the HS lunchroom ? Probably. I don't think I have posted any dis here in a while. My questions are honest from a lifetime gun owner. Lighten up Francis. Or don't.

I know that blasting pavers with a Yugo SKS is fun and that the gun was a pain in the ass to play with cause it jammed every 10 shots or so. The swivel bayonet was cool.

Hmmmm. Problem gun? When well maintained the SKS was in my experience rock solid.

Mine was a cheap POS. Nephew gave it to me to hold for him while he was in the ME with the Navy. Had to clean it every time I shot it so I couldn't blast a few pavers on the spur of the moment. I read that it was common in a lot of those Yugos.

Ohio Ordnance Works makes semi versions. I've always wanted to try one. Maybe if I win the lottery someday and we are still allowed to own anything more than a pea shooter I will get that chance.

Sounds like it had corrosive ammo run thru it with little or no cleaning. A lot of folks think the SKS is more reliable than the AK.

Some of the Yugo guns got used hard in the Balkan wars and there was a lot of bfpu.

Just got my new Savage LWH 6.5 CM out this afternoon. One shot to get on pape at 100, little adjustment on the scope and sub MOA after that. Another 20 rounds and the only time I had a flier was definitely on me. I think this is going to be a great little muley rifle.

I'm sorry that you feel the need to feel sorry. No need really. To be honest, I am trying hard as hard as I could NOT let my troll out and to and still be able to join this conversation. I've been trolling trolls in polyass to draw their fire and I'm hardened. They toss some sick shit and needed to be banned. I do have an interest in WWII infantry arms as I'm into the history of what it was like to be on the ground. And after standing in line at Mickey D's behind a guy with two tactical pistols strapped on his thighs and an attitude, I do have an interest where some control might be headed and this thread is a window for me. My pop once told me to only be afraid if someone if they can shoot you and so far that's been working. I trolled Jan Morgan on FB once. That was a hoot and dumb.

So internet dope slaps always appreciated and heeded when earned. Carry on.

We all think people like that are dumbasses. Promise. The people on here who carry you'd never know unless they told you. We all want to have our firearms hidden.

Re:ww2 firearms. I have shot multiple m1 garands. They are magnificent firearms. I would suggest you try to find a way to shoot one.

Garands are sweet, you should own one or more. Along with an M1 carbine and a M1903 or one of its variations.

The CMP should be getting the rifles from the Philippines soon and if they are rebuilt well should be good shooters and a bit of history you can hold/shoot.

    M1 - Rifle 10lbs. 43.5"L MV 2800 ft/sec
    M1 Carbine 5.5lbs 36"L MV 1900ft/sec

No wrong or right answer I guess with the obvious weight advantage of the carbine but discount the weight.

Which would you choose to live with and carry all day, everyday, to fight with someone trying to kill you?

That was another choice. Good way to clear a room in city fighting or make way in a trench.

I think there really is no right answer to this question because it all depends on where you are fighting.

A scar 17 followed me home the other day. As fun as the iron sights are, I need a scope. I'm trying to keep weight down, so something like a NF 2.5-10x24 is currently in the lead. I'd love to find a 1-8x that didn't weigh 25 oz. I have a Vortex Viper PST 1-4 on my 18" AR that I love, but 4x is marginal at 600yds with my eyes, hence the need for more magnification with the 308. I'm hesitant to do a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 with the scar's reputation for killing optics (it hits all the other requirements, except I'm not a fan of the reticle). The Leupold VX6 1-6 multigun also looks attractive. I'm also not about to pay for a Leupold Mk8. Any thoughts?

As for Aimpoints, I have a T2 micro on a 6920 and have no complaints. I like it way better than an EOTech, mostly due to battery life and how annoying it is to have to turn it off.
I haven't researched it in depth yet but it seems hard to find a 1-8 that isn't 25 oz. I have heard good things about this company http://www.valdada.com

Fineswine has already proposed legislation to outlaw anything to simulate full auto such as bump stocks, crank triggers, etc.
Not ok to call the senator names. I completely disagree with her stance on guns, however, it is not ok to call her names. Especially in this thread. Take it somewhere else.

Haha it does look kind of stupid with the 16" bbl, doesnt it?

might be trading it for a Vepr but if I don't, rest assured that I will make it authentic as soon as possible

A store up the road has a Remington 700 5R , SS, .223, 20" threaded barrel for sale at a discounted price (the sucker sat on the shelf for a while with no interest in it, probably because it's .223). Thinking of driving back and buying it. Even at "fire sale" it's still a pricey rifle.
