Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
I need to drive a used car before I buy it. I've bought lots of nice used cars and one always drives just a touch smoother than another...when they're identical makes, models and gens
But on the other hand...Like you said...a low mileage car from a dealer will be a nice car.
I need to figure something out asap...inspection up in November and I'm not spending the $1k it's gonna take to get the old bitch to pass
If it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

For example. Real nice loaded 2010 sedan from Hendrick:

If your buying an AWD BMW that has a CPO warranty and likely some of the original 50k warranty left on it, I would not worry about it.
We have always bought our cars that way with no real problems and having the CPO warranty on the Beemer is worth the $2k the usually charge for it.
My wife's car is a 2009 335i. It needed the high compression fuel pump (not cheap) at about 55k miles and has had 3 AC condensers installed over the last 4 years we owned it.
Now that the CPO is done, the last service was about $1k, but the car drives great and it is totally worth a few grand a year to maintain a nice car that is paid off.

Keep in mind when thinking about Bmws, the 3 and the 5 are different beasts. They may share many of the drivetrain bits, but the electrical gizmos in the 5 is off the charts compared to a 3. Mechanically, my dads 11 328 X drive wagon (was a cpo) has been fine. Went in once unscheduled for a minor item. My wife's 07 530xi wagon has been great mechanically, but has electrical items that I am getting better at diagnosing and fixing. Super nice car, another league from the 3, but more work to keep in top shape.

Yah, I go for 3s because they're nice enough, and I don't need the room or gizmos.
Got my my '11 328 xdrive wagon CPO for $25K 2 years ago with 35K on it. 70K now. No issues. Did well in Tahoe last season in all the snow

Unicorns are out there. I recall someone posting a M-Sport e91 (the 6 cylinder!) with a 6 speed in black over black, sick OEM rims and even a thule box. Only non-TGR spec was it wasn't a diesel and was RWD.
Still, this thing was sweet, sub 40k miles, and available.
Good luck man.
I still call it The Jake.

How tight is a 3 series wagon with car seats in the back? Looking to ditch the Subaru in the spring and starting to make a list of what I may want to replace it with.
It's prolly too tight in the e91s if you have a big Britax car seat. F31s are a little bigger. Might need to bring one in and test.
Also, get a Prince Lionheart seat saver to put under the safety seat so you don't wreck the car's seats.
Along the same lines (what instead of an Outback), why not the same love for an Audi Allroad as the X328I? These two are not the same level of comfort, performance fuel economy and size/capacity?
I am not in your hurry
I just got back to the us after to years in France. There I had an outback, bought it with 110,000 kms and sold it at 180,000.
Diesel.
Good mileage, just under 30mpg.
But really expensive to maintain.
The injection system needed two adjustments, $1,000, then at 150 k kms I changed the particulate filter,$ 3,500.
By my calculations, even with the diesel fuel cheaper than gas, there's no way the diesel is cheaper to operate than a has engine.
And with the initial price higher, a hybrid doesn't make sense either.
And when you look at the manufacturing and disposal of the battery, probably doesn't make sense from an environmental point of view.

^^^ Building on this. Recs on a good but big wagon? Drive a 2008 Volvo V50 now that unfortunately has to go - expecting kid #3 in the spring and need something (gulp) that fits three car seats across, is AWD, and ideally has a third row. Post 2010-era XC70s with third row are hard to find. Any other options? Also looking at older 80/100-series Land Cruisers, which are definitely not wagons but man three kids a dog and gear for the mountains piles up quick.
Dont even consider putting three kids in a row, IMO. That's how someone gets stabbed. Time to get a smallish (relative to the boat options out there) SUV with a third row. Honestly, unless you really need body on frame and are navigating Forest Service roads with your whole crew, you should get a Highlander. They don't drive like manatees, even though they are a bit under powered, they have a third row, reliability, cheaper than LCs/Lexus. Err on the side of space for your growing family. Three kids, k9, gear and two rows is insanity these days.
