74 Highboy. Came from the factory just as you see it. Only changed the tires, and wheels..
I was there when Dad bought it..Refurbed about 10 yrs ago..
For those old enough, this came out of the Factory at the same time Bigfoot came out.
They had Bigfoot, and this is their factory version

Damn fine truck. I think 400 cubes was the biggest mill in those. I saw one with a 360. Some came with the classic 300/6.

460's were widely available in the F-350 and E-350 in the mid-70s. Had to compete with the GM 454.

That sure makes me miss my 72 factory hi boy.

It did come with a 360 at the time, should have been a 460..
Either way when we did an engine change on the refurb, we decided to go 390.
I actually thought of putting a Cummings in it, but decided to leave stock.
Other than my Jeep, I know of no other vehicle we have had than can 4 wheel like this beast, it is truly a monster 4 wheeler
I just thought it looked cool lurking in the dark..More of a front shot.

So it looks like adulating has taken over or my gf and instead of a bimmer ill be looking for a Tacoma to replace my TDi. Wow those things hold their value, im looking at used and looking for the best years in the last 10? I like a V6 unless there is reason a V4 is just as good. Also how does the locking rear diff and Bilstein shocks help me?

If you decide on the V4, it's hard to pick anything but the Saab 96.

    Other mods to consider:
Flowmaster 40 exhaust. (hollow out cats to get full effect.)
K&N cold air intake. Adds 5-7 hp but only if you put a sticker on the back window.
Aftermarket bumpers and headache rack. Spyder Industries is local to the 509 area code and has a striking spiderweb pattern for serious street cred.
Also, the only tire to consider is the TOYO MT with 20" rims in the largest size you can fit with minor rubbing. So at least 35s.
    Hey now, what's wrong with 35 Toyo's?
The Open Country MT is the best and quietest tire I have owned. 15" rims though.
    Edit-
Flowmaster 40's are sweet too. What are Cats?

Thanks, I think she is coming along nicely.
Thought I would update the pic since I added a few things in the past year.
Element tube doors with skins from Bestop
Upgraded the front seats to Corbeau Baja XRS series
Added a rear Corbeau fold and tumble seat for the kiddos now that they are out of the car seats.
Put the family bar on a while back from a '93 YJ.

Getting ready to add a front cage using Poison Spider brackets to tie the frame to the cage.
Also been practicing with the paint guns and airbrush, so more to come some day.
Just practicing on everything I can right now.

Hoping for a Cummins powered one.

Im out. Unless there is a twin turbo V12 AMG one. Ill only take a Kubler built V12.

Missed this the first time around.

This thing has been awesome for us. Glad to see Nissan following suit with their fancy sister company.
Based off the Patrol in the rest of the world, so makes sense.
I love the classic lines. Some hate the look.
14 MPG real world here in flat FL. 18-19 highway though.
    Thing drives itself, for real.

    That is a gorgeous ride.

Also, I have an FM40 on my blazer…
It's pretty mellow with the V6

Why would you touch that with an airbrush?

Removing the decals, and re doing them in paint to match the original.
Couple layers of clear coat over that, and it will look awesome.
Not changing anything- all colors will stay the same.

I was about to say, those colors are awesome.

The new Armada will definitely cut into the QX market. They need to put the Cummins V8 in it.

They have Nismo versions in the Middle East.

Still some speculation on the factory tune on the Lion 3.0 for this truck, but should be in the 400 ft lb / 250+ HP range with 30 mpg hiway with the ten speed tranny.

Since the ram eco diesel has sad payload ( comparable to Subaru outback), the f150 diesel might be a big hit.

    ^Just saw that...

Still dont totally understand the need for 1/2ton diesel trucks. Takes forever to warm up a diesel engine in the cold, and it seems like these low displacement high boost motors get terrible fuel economy when they are actually loaded down. Plus initial extra cost and expensive maintenance of the diesel would likely offset the savings quite a bit.

Dont mean to be negative about it, but I would rather have a one diesel pickup that gets the same (if not better) fuel economy loaded down with way more capability and a gasser townie.

Early ones (06,07ish) seem to be dropping in price a little with the new generation of trucks coming out this year. Basically everything in the last ten years is totally fine.

V6 motor has a bunch more power than the 4cyl if you need to tow or haul stuff, but the 4cyl is cheaper to maintain and will probably last longer if you are the kind of guy that runs trucks to 300K+.

If you dont know what the locking rear diff does you don't need it. TRD offroad package probably helps resale which might matter more if you were buying new to resell in 5 years, but I wouldn't put much stock in it buying used.

Same ^^ here after almost 10 yrs of owning a TDi I found the stone axe simple Ranger on gas WAY less hassle, I just don't get the boner everycone has for a diesel when the fuel is often more $$$

Where I drive (CA and NV mostly), diesel is often cheaper than 87 gas; during some of the high gas price surges in summer, diesel was a dollar cheaper per gallon.

Single, the 3.2 inline TD 5 in my 8.5 ft tall fully converted van gets 22 mpg regardless of headwinds, mtn passes, etc. That lion diesel in the Range Rover also has a rep for good mpg despite shit aero and heavy wt.

Small turbo gassers can definitely suffer real world mpg << epa mpg, but that doesn't seem to be an issue with diesels.

Fair enough, I hear really bad things about the ram ecodiesel loaded down though. It'll be interesting to see how it works out.
