    Sent you a PM.

I think I have settled on a new 4Runner Trail Premium. Don't think the TRDPro is worth the extra money.

This random one I found, is nice.

We got a 2017 Tundra SR5 DC 5.7L TRD package, $1550 in rebates. About $1500 more than equivalent F-150. Drove the 4.6L but I think the 5.7L will be better with the camper. Thanks for the mag advice.

Smaller gas tank, worse fuel economy, less payload, and worse crash test ratings would be my guess.

    Trucks.

Resale value and reliability would be mine, but I've got no dog in this fight.

    What was the total bill?

Reliability history #1 priority. Fit and finish seemed nicer than Ford. F150 drove nice, looks great and the better MPG and lighter weight were tempting. I have had good luck relying on CR reliability history data.

Respective payload ratings not an issue for my use. 38 gal. gas tank.

$38,900 + tax and title, after $1550 of factory rebates.

Good call. Since Big Steve is now in rural america, he best blend in. Truck Nutz are a sure fire way to gain local acceptance. A "Molon Laube" sticker with an ar15 outline above would be another essential accessory.

    Other mods to consider:
Flowmaster 40 exhaust. (hollow out cats to get full effect.)
K&N cold air intake. Adds 5-7 hp but only if you put a sticker on the back window.
Aftermarket bumpers and headache rack. Spyder Industries is local to the 509 area code and has a striking spiderweb pattern for serious street cred.
Also, the only tire to consider is the TOYO MT with 20" rims in the largest size you can fit with minor rubbing. So at least 35s.

Funny shit. When the old blue beater shit the bed, The Wife said "Hey, we now live in Eburg so you gotta have a new truck." No scrotum, thank you. My history is decal-free, although I do have a BBI16 decal on the FWC and am considering a Darwin fish emblem for the truck.

Gimme a few days. Heading into the shop in a few minutes to prep the new truck for the FWC (tie-downs, wiring harness), plan to pick up the camper tomorrow.

^^last time I was at my mechanic, he was changing trannie fluid (I think) on a newest gen 4Runner.... holy shit! Apparently, it's an item not recommended for 4runners that are driven on city streets under normal driving conditions, but it is recommended by Toyota for "extreme" conditions, like the regular driving experience where I live. Unless you know what you're doing and have access to a lift, it's definitely not a diy fluid change. Pretty pricey for a fluid change, too.

I do know that a fluid change on my 6spd manual 5series transmission made a big difference. And it was easy and cheap.

I have put this truck in the thread already, but the other night I decided to grab a couple pics while I had it outside. Just for S&G's. Turned out cool.

78-79? Crew cab. Got the high pinion 44 and 9in rear with spring-over I assume. Great looking truck for sure. What's under the hood? I kinda hope it's an obscene 460
