So unless you can move to the mountains you have no right to bitch about jongs fucking up traffic in the i70 bitch thread?

In other news, traffic was fine when I drove up Friday afternoon. New pup is starting to enjoy van weekends more and more.

Trust me, if it was my decision I would be there already. Unfortunately, my better half isn't quite convinced just yet.

    Hopefully next summer....

    OFFICIAL I70 BITCH THREAD....

Traffic was fine yesterday at 5:30 pm. An I70 Christmas miracle.

I saw something new (to me) a number of times this past week during the storm cycle: idiots in 2wd (during a traction law) driving 10-20 mph in the breakdown lane, barely keeping traction. Because of the large snow drifts, the lane was narrow and thus they'd have to drift into the right lane and hold everyone up trying to pass...and with the domino effect, would cause miles of backups in all lanes. It's just enraging that people without proper equipment ignore the laws in effect and fuck it up for all.

    Where is the CDOT enforcement?

Non-existent. I honestly barely saw a plow in 3 days. Ten Mile Canyon was an icy joke yesterday. Do they seriously plow once during a storm and say "all good!"?

Felt that way after some storms this year, especially driving in the Keystone Hwy 6 stretch, was odd to just be wallowing

10 Mile, obviously they can't dump MgCl2 if road temp is under 16F

So where is CSP to enforce THE LAW?

Fridays are the new Saturdays. Took off work to ski today, but bailed due to traffic. I fucking hate living here sometimes.

Seriously? It's the week around Christmas, you should know better... it's probably been like that all week, and next week will be more of the same.

There is basically no time of the year where that godforsaken piece of shit road is worth driving. You should know better than to drive i70 in the summer during tourist season. You should know better than to drive i70 during the gap season when they do construction. You should know better than to drive i70 on a weekend. You should know better than to drive i70 during the week. You should know better than to drive i70 during the winter.

Does any mag get stuck on I70 more than Kevo? Your consistency is remarkable!

I may well hold the record. I even moved closer to the mountains from Boulder to Golden as a strategy. Didn't help.

The universe is consistently telling me to find a way to move to British Columbia. I need to start listening.

Driving this time of year always makes me start smoking, just for a few weeks, I need something to calm the murderous urges.

I feel fortunate to have only been caught in I70 traffic 2x in 21 years. Yeah, I'm rubbing it in.

What's worse this time of year, the drive or going to city market when you get here?

Avoid between the hours of 3pm - 8pm, mid-Dec thru March. If you must go within that time frame, make sure to bring your entire group and have everyone wear their ski boots.

Also, be sure to have your significant other wait in the fire lane in front of City Market while you shop to prevent your fat ass from having to walk a few extra steps to the car. Surely you are far more special than all those losers who actually parked their cars.

It's a sign.... bite the bullet and buy yourself a mountain bike, and avoid the soul-crushing highway all winter. I slept in this morning, then drove 10 minutes to Hall Ranch and rode my bike with a friend for two hours on some of the most fun trails around. It was 50 degrees and sunny, and we saw three other bikers and a few hikers. I wasn't at the mercy of crowds, traffic, or weather.

Sure it's not skiing powder, but the effort with I-70, lift lines, and crowds just isn't worth it to me anymore... plus where you live now, you can literally ride your bike to about 4-5 different trails so you don't even have to drive.
