Don't say it can't be done. It's perfectly legal and can be started like in 20 minutes. Now to find a politician, captain or other official with actual balls to say do it. We all know CDOT won't since they can't even keep a few cameras in operation.

And get the useless media to report it.
^^^ +1. I'm falling more and more in line with STFU about the "can't do" attitude 'round these parts. There are simple things which can be implemented quickly and once they prove their efficacy, there's a chance (remote as it might be) of building the political will necessary to do the bigger things.

And nothing on cotrip. What a worthless POS.
CDOT's take on timeliness of information postings is the equivalent of the Weather Channel posting climatic trends, when what you need is the weather report.

I seem to remember driving I80 from foothills outside of Sacramento where they checked every vehicle and if you weren't outfitted correctly, they turned you around. So many access points it would hard to cover all the bases, and a lot higher volume but they could invest in some kind of check station that peeps would have to go through or come back when they were acceptable.
Yes, I know this is unrealistic. Imagine Joe Florida getting turned around in his ill-equipped rental.

I did like the one comment on todays wreck article where someone said that the locals are probably causing all the issues by getting to comfortable and lax with their driving and causing wrecks.

80 is more wide open on the approach, but the point is that the word is out and people are way more informed of the rules.

So Colorado could enforce, and eventually it would start to do some good.

This, and this^^^ was part of the issue today.

I woke up late, strolled into the parking lot at 145 and slayed DEEP pow in the blizzard for 2 hours....it was rad.

Having family in town who has to ski this time of year sucks. Remind me to never, ever bother during Christmas-New Years week. Holy fucking shit.

Seeing that most hills reported ~3" in the past two days, I got a chuckle out of this one.

Of course, it's possible he found some of the snow moved by the wind into the trees, & he ain't tellin' where ;-)

The guy filming should have been in the right lane.

But it's ok. It's his road, we're just driving on it.

Maybe there's more to the story, but I'll call it like I see it.

Left lane looks cleaner than the right; better traction.

There was traffic behind him. Right line doesn't look that bad, maybe even better than the left lane. Shuttle driver, fwiw.

funny you say that a week or so ago I was coming up from denver and there is a peak one van in the left lane with no thought on moving over

there is a hotel in vail, can't remember the name, they have black suburbans and tahoes and drive like asswipes up and down 70 shuttling their high end customers to the airport and back

their plates say like chair 6 or lift 4 or something

really? I'm causing the problems, doubtful, I drive in shit weather and conditions six months out of the year and have for years on end

wed wasn't a biggy, so what if I talk on the phone all day while driving, text and check tgr at stop lights, write notes while talking on the phone and driving, playing with the radio, driving around in rear wheel drive, shit I never put it in 4wd, whats the fun in that, I was lucky enough to be crusing back into breck on hwy 9 and no one was around so at 60mph I slammed on the brakes to see how slippery it was, got alittle squirlly, but nothing too bad, it's always fun doing that a loosing control for a few seconds and getting sideways

All of those black suburban/tahoe shuttle drivers are cock suckers. They are selfish left lane bandits who need to just drive five under the limit and never leave the right lane.

I wonder if the driver of the black truck can sue the shuttle company and shuttle driver for their part in the accident?
