How often does that happen? I waited once for 25 minutes on a pow day and still made 1st chair. Just curious.

No idea, I used to ski WP sometimes. It's an OK mountain, but it could never be my go-to. Glad it is for others. Cheaper for sure.

It's crazy how many people ski Berthoud now. So weird that it probably gets a lot more traffic than it ever did when there were lifts.

neither happens very often (blasting happens a fair amount, but they try to do it before the big wave of morning traffic). It does happen, though. Of course, when I am on the WP side of things, I view that as a bonus not a liability.

WP would not be my first choice mountain, but it is a very good mountain, and one on one it beats a lot of the other options (though that's not fair because reality is that it isn't one on one).

To my knowledge CDOT is still following the same protocols that they did when they used artillery. That may change as they get accustomed to the system.

Wish I had that remote. Would be fun to just lay in bed at night and set them off randomly

I-70 is gonna be EpicTM tonight. My friend asked me if he thought he would be able to make it up in his A4 leaving at 6pm "you think the roads are gonna get real bad?"

2wd car with bald tires stuck in the ski area parking lot today. Asks me to help push. Me "fuck off" and walk away. Guess I'm a dick, but I'm so over these people.

Vail pass closed at 10:30 am. Of course, it is warm, and it will get "better".

It's not gonna get that cold....a little below normal is all, it'll feel cold since it's been so warm. I'm headed to WY but gonna avoid 70 and hit Either Rabbit Ears or Gore Pass instead.

Coming back (Eastbound) over Loveland Pass today, a Westbound truck was stuck about half a mile West of the 7 Sisters slide paths - no chains (it was snowing off and on for the bulk of the day).

At least he had those orange emergency triangles set up ;-)

That was an insane last 20 miles. Temp dropped 30 degrees in 2 miles. 50 mph winds probably gusting to 70.

    Saw that.

I've started honking and flipping the middle when passing trucks on I70 with no chains during a chain law.
