Yup. No idea what Schweinsteiger, the most experinced man on the pitch, was thinking waving his hand around like that in the box on a corner.

Not sure we watched the same match. The Germans OWNED the French for most of the 1st half (excluding the 1st 5 minutes, which were even.) The stupid penalty at the end of the extra time sent them in a downward spiral for the second half. Too bad too, because they had some great chances throughout the match, even in the 2nd half... especially at the end. Without Lloris playing the match of his life France loses 3-2.

Fucking Antoine Griezmann is a player. Props to him (and again, Lloris.)

Ballack, in shock, said Schweinsteiger was late getting to his mark. It looked like he also misjudged where he was and getting his arm up to block out his man.

Great saves and action for sure. Giroud sucked and looked really flat in the first half and had a bunch of turnovers, along with a lot of the French trying to force passes. The Germans must have had 80% or more possession.

Pagba's sweet moves on the defender (Kinnick?) set up the second goal and Griezmann did finish well with a little screening on Neuer by Giroud. The French defense really stepped up the second half. It also looked like there was more 'forechecking' which broke up the German attacks and possessions the second half.

The French have a lot more guns than the Portuguese.

Haven't seen the match yet, but funny to hear of a handball penalty going against the Germans when an incredibly obvious handball penalty against the French was waived off in the France - Iceland match. Surely, UEFA doesn't allow host countries to have any undue influence on the officiating, right?!

Pretty much what tippster said. Germans looked like they lost their way after the PK. Plus greasy man is a little goal scoring machine.

Dude is going to get a big raise after this Euro. His stock just wet waaaaay up. Golden Boot locked too.

Pretty fucked up that his sister was one of those playing dead in the club during the Paris attacks: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/07/sp...acks.html?_r=0

    super soft call.

and I dunno there Tipp, Germany certainly did not OWN the game. There was 8 minutes or so of collapsing frence defenders, but Germany did not put on the chances. Maybe the end of the 2nd half, but I can only recall 2 shots that got to the net and had any chance of points in the first half. Greismann , with much help from Payet and Evra demolished the German defence. The top german players were about as reliable as they were against the Italians, a game which they should not have won. Boatang was making a lot of errors, which is not the german norm. While, yes, Lloris saved France, Nuer was outstanding for Germany. I'm (by the sounds of it the only one) of the opinion the the German side did not look strong enough to beat either of Italy or France, and they really lucked out against Italy.

But ya, opinions are like assholes. So are statistics...

Lazy Arsenal player Giroud played for 60 minutes too long and Kante needs more playing time. It would be good footy to watch Kante to Payet all day, as Payet is an animal from 25-30 yards out.

Either way, I'd have hoped to see Belgium in the finals as that was where my not-so-smart money was from a bet I made last year... ah well. Anyways, great game scheduled for Sunday. Portugal is not a team to dismiss if Nani and Sanchez can play on their A-Game.

I think it was a clear handball.

I only saw the second half but got the sense that Germany was the better team in the first half, especially in midfield.

Best not run into the box like you're playing volleyball.

Looking forward to an exciting and competitive game. Score de France... 2-1

Tough break for Ronaldo. France controlling play in a pretty lack luster game.

    Congrats to the Portugal
Not really the team I wanted to see win but any team other than France is fine by me.

At least it wasn't a shootout. France deserved to win, but sometimes the better team doesn't.

    Ronaldo's a tool.

I get your point, but the guy has two Champions League winners medals and a CL finals man of the match medal on his mantle, so he has some credibility.
Was he referring to Portugal or Ronaldo specifically? I watched Sky so I didn't hear his comments.

No, he was speaking about the Portuguese strategy for the match.

That's nice that he played well in his League. CL is not the same as Intl. play. England is impressively shitty at that despite having the $$$$ National league.
