Finally a true creative center midfielder/#10?

    At 17 y/o he's got a long career ahead
Yeah...he has talent. He is small though. But so is Messi...so I guess it don't matta none.

Yeah. The first goal was nice but this was exceptional:

Because he runs around with no purpose most of the time and the vast majority of his passes are backwards or square--and then when you've written him off, he goes and scores a sublime goal or makes a ridiculous pass which makes you feel bad for slagging him?

    Holland v France soon

The Guardian says Holland are lining up wearing shirt numbers 1-11. That's pretty cool really.

Fuck 1-11, the Oranje could use number 14. Screamer from Pogba.

Yeah some bad defense - De Gea started it out with the run out of the box for no reason.

That David Luiz cleats to the knee though - should be a red card every time

I can watch De Gea watch that Fenerbahce free kick go in over and over...

I like watching the calculus in the keeper's head as they basically dare the freekick takers to beat them on the wall side and then don't even bother moving when the kick goes that way knowing that if its hit well they are beat.

    Bullshit

As a keeper the third worst mistake is to get beaten near post. The second is to get nutmegged. The first worst is to drop the fucking ball.

No matter what you can't just watch the ball into the back of the net.

He never saw that thing until it was way too late

Because he was covering the other side of the net, guessing incorrectly that the taker wasn't going to bend the ball with pace into the top corner.

A world class keeper should never be so flat footed.

That's the only place a right footed shooter can put it. Not every asshole does the stupid CR7 set up. You've got to be able to at least make a move towards that thing.

A brilliant strike for sure. But not my idea of intelligent, anticipatory play by the keeper.

Oooof this is a freaking loaded Mexico roster. I'm very, very pleased to see Ol' Bastardo Sucio Rafael Marquez is in the squad. I hope they start his old ass.

I'll be in the 5th row in between the penalty area and center circle this Friday in Columbus. The Mexicans will be hearing from me. The 2013 edition of this game was hands down the best live sporting event I have attended.
