got 5 great ski days wednesday thru sunday.

beautiful corn at squaw for 4 of the 5 days.

the sun never came out on saturday, but that was fun, too.

super amped to have bagged some quality january corn.

leaving the hill at 2:00 to catch the greyhound was SUPER painful yesterday...

the laps were getting better and better each run.

could not care less about missing the super bowl, but i wish i could've got two more hours of corn....
    Still waiting...

Some greybird shots from Saturday near Kirkwood with JMetzler...and we had a blast.

Plan - ski something over there, then hike up, then ski down to the lake

    Adventure...

Promo chute didn't disappoint with a nice layer of winter snow to slash and slough...

Next line was Pipeline...untracked and 90% wintery top to bottom...

    Token Boulevard shot...

You didn't miss much, remember it's February after all. By my last run at 2:30 the sun was ducking below the ridges and things were getting pretty firm.

i skied until 4:00 every day from wednesday thru saturday and it was spectacular right until the bell.

(well maybe it wasn't spectacular on saturday, but it was still good)

for what it's worth, i always ski until 4:00... it's one of my greatest passions in skiing.

i started doing this about 7 seasons ago and it completely changed my appreciation of the sport.

if you always stay until 4:00 you will always find something good to ski (or at least have a satisfying day)!

Ski until it hurts then ski some more. Glad to see that people are getting it done out there.

Stoked to get up there this weekend. Mounted some new Lhasas. Never ridden them before. Interested to see what the hubbub (sp?) is.

Lets hope that is not the case this weekend.

    What took so long ?

Often takes me half the day to find the best snow. E.g. Sunday it was wintry snow lurking in the Saddle area. Methinks it's time to get the old 10 at 10 routine going again for weather like this. We could make some really good runs with a bunch of riders to break up the overnight consolidation layer (crust? not really hard enough to call it that).

Tahoe mags, thanks for all the rides and beta the last few years. Just got offered a sweet job in Wydaho so it's time to move. If anyone needs crash space in eastern Idaho feel free to hit me up.

Congrats snapt. Heard lots of good things about Wydaho.

Skied Alpine today and found everything from fast groomers, slushy not as fast groomers, soft off piste corn and off piste sheets of ice. Pretty rad overall. I encourage everyone to get out and get some even if it isn't 3' of blower like we'd all likely prefer.

got out to round top today. the best snow out there was in the couloirs. there was some soft in the trees but mixed in with crusty and icy.

didn't go very far up, but it was pretty good. firm but very carveable. half the time there was a constant heavy sluff from above, the other half the time big pieces of broken crust were blowing up the couloir and hitting us from below.

Yeah, Cinders & me are coming up on the SkiBus on Fri.
Mammoth eh? Should be good (I'm jealous).

Hey we were heading up last Sunday, and the bus was playing the Movie "LineScore" (US Freeskiing comp from '07).
So, near the end the comp is at KW, and whaddya know, but there is a topless SuPu, beer in hand, with his fur hat & shades on, grinning from ear to ear.
Man all the kids on the bus started crying, and the girls & guys were screaming...you know, the usual reaction

Maybe. Watching the forecast and waxing skis. Can't believe I'm getting excited about 3-7 inches.

It's not about how deep it is, but how you use it.

Heading up to Alpine tonight - the way things have been the last few weeks, 4 - 10 inches will feel like 2 feet.
