Awesome. Now, to poach some closed terrain at SSV...they can't complain since I have EXTRA safety gear/bacon

Looks like Louise has more terrain open now. So glad I got a pass there over the 200 metre vertical flat runs at SSV. Going to miss DD though which is the only good terrain there anyways...well SS chutes is ok when it's not sun fucked.

i've had tis argument countless times. "oh, SSV is better, LL isn't worth the drive", "oh, but it is", "nah, it isn't. SSV reports more snow", "but LL has great snow if you know where to look for it", "SSV has the dive!", "of fuck it" i say, and ski LL by myself

LMAO...that sounds about right. I think I just need a break from there for a bit and keep the full discovery stoke going at LL and KH.

Sure the drive to the lake is a little longer, but by the time you deal with the gondi up to the lifts at SSV, I've found that, from Calgary at least, both SSV and LL take the same amount of time, from my driveway to first run.

Personally I prefer to "make the drive"

Take Silver City out since it shoulnd't even be on the map anyways as it's never open and the terrain at Lake Louise is better. They have better terrain open most of the time. Not knocking SSV as i've had lots of fun there, just stating facts. My problem has been that every time it snows, SSV has always had 4 or 5 more cm which steers me there but whatever, what are our powder days at the resort on average...12-17 cm-ish when things are rolling (spring exceptions) which we get all excited about but then KH always seems to have much more and then even more at Rogers and the back country on the parkway has all of the previous snow sitting there to add to the depth. Sitting on 200 metre vert Standish waiting for stuff to crack, then where's the really good shit...usually a bit of wind taking it in to the Shoulder which is good for a few 4-5 turns. Some laps down ledges then maybe sticking to the old chair for a bit...and if you are lucky they'll crack DD and if you get stuck waiting for a few days for it to open along with every one who heard the hype and is waiting for it to open too. Then once in a while you'll get good in bye bye and SS chutes which the past couple seasons has been a gong show when it has cracked good and a few spring days where the glades are nice. Here's one less cunt that's going to be scooping you to gang bang Standish in the a.m. I'll get a card and just be more selective as to when i'm going to head to SS. Perhaps a good season break from there will restoke me for that place.

I'll sell my secrets stashes to the highest bidder. Keep in touch and when I do go maybe i'll show them to you. Better yet buy me a lift ticket and i'll give you a tour...that's my new racket LMAO *offer subject to keeping up no refunds if not no need to wonder how your DINS went down to minimum after coming out of the can before I show my stashes*

Something that has definitely worked in Louise's favour the past few years (unless you are the owner) is how much less busy it has become than Sunshine.

The two places used to draw similar skier visits of 600,000+ a season, and while Sunshine has held that number Louise is now down into the 400,000s.

There's no doubt that KH especially and also Revy have cut into the Lake's skier visits, since both also appeal to better skiers. A lot of green and blue run skiers have never liked Louise because the best snow is on the areas they can't really ski. And KH for sure is not much of an option, so Sunshine is the obvious choice. I have friends who are longtime Sunshine pass holders and while they are pretty good skiers they have never once been to KH, having heard its too gnarly.

Last season at Louise I barely ever waited in a lineup, other that getting up from the base after lunch, even on a weekend. Meanwhile vehicles are parked 6 km down the Sunshine access road and the tables in the daylodge are wedged in 4" apart.

Still love the Dive at Sunshine, and Silver City the few times it has actually been open, but I finally got tired of playing the waiting game. Doing laps on Divide waiting for the Dive to open, or doing 90-second runs on Standish.

Here's the kicker, three out of the past four seasons the Dive hasn't even opened until March, that a lot of waiting for the good stuff. (Disclaimer: It might be 3 of 5 years, I've lost track. But either is brutal.)

Err, I mean Louise, KH and everywhere else sucks, go to Sunshine. 100-per-cent champagne powder! 72 Super Lifts!

That is exactly why I didn't get a LL pass last season. Figured since I had the KH pass anyways why would I bother stopping at the lake. This year it's more about driving a bit extra to get more terrain options. 40 minute drive..whatever.

finally got tired of playing the waiting game. Doing laps on Divide waiting for the Dive to open, or doing 90-second runs on Standish.
^had I put any thought in to arranging my post this is exactly what I was getting at.
