[QUOTE=smmokan;1428561][QUOTE=Sirshredalot;1428314]Sure, the dugout is full of homegrown "talent," but the guys who are out on the field are still getting paid $20 million each.
Jesus Christ, you should really put down the crack pipe before you post such drivel. Please, go learn something about rosters other than the Yankees before you post anything ever again. Your idiotic spewing lowers the intelligence of everyone on this forum.
Do you even know what you're talking about? Melky Cabrera, Cano, Chamberlain, Hughes, and Kennedy all make (just about) the major league minimum. Add those 5 guys to Pettite, Rivera, Jeter, and Posada, and I challenge you to find 5 other teams with the same amount of CONTRIBUTING home grown talent.
^^^ Please explain yourself, and please show me 5 other teams who have that many SOLID players on their team that were home-grown.
Red Sox? Let's see... Papelbon, Lester, Buchholz, Ellsbury (not good yet).... is that it?
I never said that... I just said that the Yankees have a lot of home-grown talent. Sure, you can spin it however you want about them keeping the big names by paying them more, but in most cases they gave them those big contracts early on in their career, and made sure they stayed in house.
Milwaukee
Florida
Minnesota
Oakland
Texas
OK, so maybe I'm wrong.... but Minnesota, Oakland, and Texas is pushing it for right now. Texas barely has 5 good players on their team, period.
I guess I was aiming more for showing how the Red Sox DON'T use their home-grown talent. So sue me.
the Yankees are out for blood this weekend

ellsbury, yeah, he hasn't proven himself at all![]()
Didnt the sox draft schilling? He counts! There are at least 15 teams with more "home grown " players than the yankees. Except those teams dont have an 80 million dollar infield. Or a 60 million dollar outfield. And they arent still paying Javier Vazquez's contract. Or Randy Johnson's contract.
Ellsbury and Buchholz count for just as much as Chamberlain or Kennedy.

^^^ Just about every bullpen in baseball is overmanaged these days. That's pretty much a given.
Only one game. Sox bullpen looked pretty good on Wednesday night. These things happen- dont chalk one game up to a bullpen being tired or whatever. Things happen, especially against such a potent lineup. Looking forward to 8 strong from Beckett today.
