I could get mad but instead I'll just take a deep breath and let it out slowly while I count backward from 14.

Not sure what is worse, the dodgers slipping farther behind in the playoff hunt or that fact it was the fuckin giants that did it.

    heres mine:

its amazing the yankees have had the best record in baseball since the all star game and are playing really well, but they're still 6 games behind us.

maybe we'll see them in the playoffs, who knows?

I went to the White Sox game on Saturday. The last Sox game I went to was in the mid '90s sometime. I think they've really done a good job improving the park. My impression of it back then was a big, lifeless concrete edifice. It's much better now. Not the best park, but definitely not the worst.

I will gripe about ticket prices, though. I had to pay $35 for a fucking outfield seat! That's too much for a team flirting with the worst record in baseball playing another team (the Twins) who are out of contention. The White Sox actually charge differently based on whether it's a weekend vs. a weekday game, and even depending on the opponent. Does any other team do this? I know teams will sometimes offer "bargain nights" for midweek games and certain ticket grades, but I've never seen a team specifically vary the pricing on a daily basis like the White Sox do. I blame it on the legacy of Bill Veeck.

as a yanks fan you are supposed to find A-rod overated and be glad he will be gone next year, plan on him choking in the clutch and boo him when possible.
the memo must not have made it to the west coast

Some other teams definitely do this. Maybe even the Cubs?

check, check, check, and, nah, he's not that booable yet. This will be his post season to charm the fans. I'm skeptical.

I can't wait until ARod is playing SS for the Cubs next year and the Yanks finish behind the Devil Rays. Boo away.

You're right, the Cubs do it to: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ballpark/seating.jsp

It'll be more fun watching him continue his .071 BA in the post-season with zero RBI in the past four years (or whatever it is Choke-Rod has), if the Skanks actually squeak into October.
Oh, and the errors, how can we forget the errors. Love watching him air mail those things fifteen feet over Jorge's head.

Do you even know what you're talking about? A-Rod has 11 errors all year. Scott Rolen, long thought to be the best-fielding 3rd baseman in the game, has 10 (in many fewer games). Beantown's favorite, Mike Lowell, has 15. Everyone that's played as many games as A-rod has more errors than him- seems to me that he's learned the position quite well, actually.

And also- there's no way the Yankees are letting him go this offseason- not with a new stadium in '09.

Dex, he's down to 11 so far for this year. Not bad for 3B. And the offense is obvious. I think he's actually settled down. But I reserve judgement for the post, which, just a few weeks ago in Detroit, I thought was lost. He has to do it now, and he knows it, considering where he is in his career. Where's he going to go? Back to Texas? Cubs? Yeah, that will help his Hall of Fame votes.

I know he's playing good 3B this year, it's the playoff errors (if they make it) that I'm looking forward to. Apparently they're on A-Rot's mind, too, as you'd expect from a choke artist. As he said, ""I stunk. And when you stink, sometimes, you have to call it," he said. "I went 1-for-14 last year with an error and that's pretty lousy."

As for where he's going to go, just please, please, please don't let him come to the Red Sox. Please.

I'll put 100 bucks down that this subject has been mulled over on the Boras/Epstein cell exchange. But, I can't imagine him doing it. ARod, that is.

I hope you're right. Of course if he goes from zero to hero in the playoffs I might feel differently, but maybe I just don't like the guy and his bottle of insta-tan.

You're right. Who would want one of the greatest players of all-time on their team, anyway?

Mike Lowell is the best fielding third baseman of all time, as far a fielding percentage goes
