^^^ You mean like when their entire team was injured last year, or like when everyone except Jeter, A-Rod, and Posada sucked at the beginning of this year?

at first I thought that it was just because the Yanks had like 15 series in a row against KC and TB. However now, the Sox can't beat anyone and the Yanks continue to murder the baseball, and all of a sudden they can pitch. Great.....just great..... Come on Sox!!!!

I'm curious to see how Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, and Ian Kennedy help the Yanks down the stretch. Gammons just said that Joba Chamberlain might have the best stuff in baseball.

Why Tito pulled Okajima for Gagne baffles me "Lets pull a lights out reliever for a not as good reliever". If the thought was to save Okajimas arm... Well he already in the game! His numbers are much better than Gagne's, so why pull him for Gagne? That makes no sense. NONE!!

The Yanks/Sox series at the end of August is looming large now. Boston massacre III?

I'm getting a 1978 deja vu. Anyone seen Bucky Dent?

yeah, that was great the whole stadium chanting 'Joba.' When asked about that, Jeter said, "Well, Yankees fans pay attention." Yes we do, and boy is that kid NAAAAAASTY.

I am... but its tough to stop rooting for the Yankees when my whole family keeps pulling me back in.

Besides, you've got to admit that the Rox are killing it right now too.

I'm no more or less worried than I was when the lead was 14 games. If you care to read back a few pages, I said that the Yankees would go nuts at some point and this season would come down to the last few weeks. Well, here's what I get for being right... Go Sox, bitches. The season starts now.

Good to see you back in the baseball thread, SSD. I got worried about you when I saw you were ripping off The Sports Guy's idea for using "rape stand" in your fantasy football team name.

Can't win 'em all. I think the passing of Rizzuto had something to do with it.

is there any way the sox can give back gag-me?

im starting to think sticking gabbard in the bull pen would have been a better idea.

How many games are they going to lose with him in relief before they release him? I'm guessing two more- and I give him two weeks to do it.

After this series, I may have to order some well done crow. If Torre was in on the decisions to wait and develop and bring out the secret weapons of Joba, Betemit, and Ramirez at near the right time, well, that is managing. And sweet redemption on the day he ties Stengel.

^^ Betemit is actually a product of the Braves system. However, Hughes, Ramirez, and Joba are all Yankees. Wait for Ian Kennedy too, 13-2 with a 1.70 ERA in AAA.
