I think it could be fun. Some friends from soCal are supposed to come visit for a coast trip, but if I can squeeze it in, we'll be there.

I really want to hook up with some PDX mags and breathe gaseous meat products and get sunburned together, but not sure if I can make July 4th. Should we shoot for a non-holiday weekend?

The meats family has been starting to ponder this same trip as we just broke the motorhome out for the year. Maybe this could stand a post in the main forum? If interest is high I'm sure we could be talked into heading up. Slushy jibbing and drunken camping makes for fantastic times.

    I could be there...

I get off work at 8am the morning of the first and don't have to back at work till the 5th. So I'm game. What was the name of that campground again? Hey MD9, Its been awhile since the overnight road trip spectacular all-nighter(A-Basin-Minturn-Vail-Eagle-Denver and back to A-basin and all in one night) and my liver is just starting to feel fully recovered. Maybe those lights on the DJ table will be enough to keep you contained this year. Anyway Hood has plenty of snow this year and it would be great to see everyone again. Lets do this...

Whoa...I remember that picture FN! I had just had surgery on my knee two months prior. We were in Hood for the 4th last year, but no one else was around besides Natty.

Would be super fun to do this again.

Holy crap that central CO all-nighter was just one bad decision after another. I'm amazed we came out of that OK. Although, the shirt I'm wearing in the photo you posted did meet it's demise that night (how freaking bizarre).

I'll throw up a post in the main forum and see what kind of interest 4th at Hood gets (no intention of stepping on any toes here, but I'd like to see if it's worth the effort sooner rather than later).

    EDIT, the campground is Alpine.

Ok so clue a Hood jong in here, I went to their web site and they say closed. I know there is a glacier up there, is it a separate place? Are there lifts? Hiking/skinning only? Vertical open (how many feet)?

I'd love to make it for the 4th. Get off work at 7:05pm the 3rd, drive for 5 hrs, party, sleep, ski, party, drive 5 hrs, sleep, go to work 6:41am on the 5th. I've done it several times before, it gets harder to recover every year. A case of Sobe Adrenalin Rush is on my shopping list.
I hope to be stopping at T-line on about June 18th on the way to Idaho if anyone is around that week.

Yup, closed at night. Open during the day, in summer from about 7am to 2pm.
Magic Mile (6000 to 7000) from Timberline Lodge and Palmer (7000 to 8500) chairs open. Most skiing done on the Palmer. You can hike above the chair too.

    X2.

I've begged the wife to no avail. Hood just isn't in the cards for me this year. I'll be looking forward to next year, that and plenty of pics from those who do go this year.

Uggh. Can't make the 4th. But if any of you freaks are sticking around for the weekend, I could be tempted into touring one day off Hood or skiing the glacier.

Looking forward to another trip out there but this year it is not in the cards (or knee in my case), plus starting new job 2 days prior to the 4th.

Bob, bidding on a house today within stumbling distance of yours. Maybe next summer we can get out there again.

    Financially obligated to go!

I just reserved camp spot #2 at Still Creek Campground. Its the same campground from a few years back. I booked #2 for 3 nights--sun, mon, tues. Spaces 3, 4, and 5 are still available for those dates and all are close together. Check out reserveamerica.com for bookings. I put # of guest at 6, so come on down.
