I dunno about the 4th proper but it's looking likely that I'll be down there from the 8th to the 11th.

Great to see folks stepping up. I've paided for spot #2 sunday, monday and tuesday nights at Still Creek Campground and there is plenty of room. Bring some firewood so Splat can relax and not take to foraging for sticks. Should be fun.

It sounds like a lot of fun. What kind of gear are you guys thinking of taking up? are you skinning or boot packing? Do you think it would be chill to climb in alpine boots?
I climbed it several years ago but didnt have skis and had all sorts of gear.

There will be lift served skiing...

One can boot/skin up above Palmer for more snow, although the mountain is looking pretty thin from town (I haven't been up in awhile)

Anybody here up for a little NF action? I'm heading to Snow Dome one (or both) of the two weekends on either side of the fourth.

You're still the reigning PNW tommahawk champ. You do front flips inbetween the touchdowns of your tommahawks,

That one had the nastiest stinger I've had in a while, especially since the snow was kinda hard.

Sooo, Ash got the time off work. Now I just need one good painting contract to get enough funds to make the trip. Hopefully I can make this happen. We would love to hit Hood and meet some maggots for the first time.

I might be able to swing it as a day trip from Seattle... Mapquest says 4.5 hrs to timberline via Portland, think this is about right?

Barring any traffic issues, that sounds about right.
