Arrow Utards: Be Careful out there this week!!

Leaving for work channel 5 came on with that obnoxious alert and then called for HIGH AVALANCHE ACTIVITY FOR THE WASATCH AND NORTH. Strong winds will also wind load many slopes.

It is only the start, but advisories are up: UAC New Advisory

Keep your thinking caps on please.

    Nice reminder poncho.

I'll have to admit, I'm feeling jittery and nervous this season from the events that have already happened.

The dangerous day will be thursday, when it clears and people get excited.

Dick waving should start tomorrow - I'll be heading out early tuesday AM with Gonar.

Gonar's brother, Gnarls Diickjerkovich, just moved into town from Slovakia and he might go too. Those boys will surely be spanking it tomorrow.

I totally agree! Nerves are definitely a bit twittered today. Excited yet nervous for the first big storm. Hopefully this will be the one we need to get the snowpack stabilized a bit. In the meantime, I think there's gonna be some rippers tomorrow...

no plan to shoot the valley gun tomorrow morning. no word of control work from udot either. i don't believe the south facing stuff is getting worked quite as hard as the NW-E aspects. the lcc road may close but it doesn't look like that will happen before first tram.

We went up and hit up solitude this morning...started riding down at about 7:00AM. The roads weren't nearly as bad as I had expected. It was 4 degrees on my subi's thermometer when we started out...brrrrr!!!!! Just to be safe(due to the Bruce's early morning advisory), we skinned up the groomers to the top of the lifts that end mid mountain and then just road down the powder shoulders next to the groomers. The powder felt almost sticky. I couldnt get much speed in it..it was really odd feeling snow.

Today is a high avalanche danger day. Best stick to resorts.
