Anthony Davis' first game in Dallas:

    1st half - 24 pts 13 reb
2nd half - Leaves game with non-contact groin injury

It’s not funny because I don’t like to see anyone get hurt, but given the context it’s pretty funny. AD was just injured in a non contact play and had to go to the locker room during his first game with the Mavs.

For what it’s worth, Luka played more minutes than anyone in the NBA last year.

    AD out "multiple weeks".

This trade is quickly becoming historically bad for the Mavs.

Happily, the Lakers’ trade for Mark Williams was rescinded.

Much as I appreciate RUN TMC and old school Oakland music, that all-star weekend was some seriously fucked up bullshit. SGA rolling his eyes at Kevin Hart pretty much summed it up…

Yeah, we couldn’t stop talking about SGA telling Kevin Hart basically to shut the hell up.

From everything I’ve heard today about the ASG, Stern should be thanking NBC for putting the SNL50 up against it so only a handful of people had to see it.

Well stern is dead so he didn’t have to see it either, but point taken.

It’s a shame the whole weekend has become such a farce because Mac McClung is doing otherworldly shit in the dunk contest.

Yeah but he’s pulling a car on to the court? Ladders and props are weird. Back in my day they just dunked the shit creatively!

But I did end up watching it Saturday night and it was pretty cool watching Mac’s dunks

Glad I skipped the games last night to watch the snl fifty

I didn’t watch any events of the All-Star Weekend or game, and based on the reviews I’m glad I didn’t waste my time.

BUT I have opinions about Mac McClung in the slam dunk contest….. last I checked it’s the NBA all-star game and Mac McClung isn’t an NBA player. Yes he plays in the g-league, but that’s minor league to the NBA.

McClung is on a two way contract, so technically he is a member of the Orlando Magic, though he's only played a couple of minutes with them this year. He's on their roster (there are two slots for two way players), though can't be called up for more than a certain period before they have to convert the two way to a standard contract.

Fuck, Wemby is out for the year with deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder. That's scary in a guy that big.

I’ve never heard of that in a shoulder before. That’s troubling

I was looking forward to watching him play against the Pistons tomorrow night. As a Pistons fan I can relate, it sucks. Ausar Thompson was starting to get past the rookie wall last season when he was shut down for a blood clot in his leg. He missed the entire off season, training camp, and the first 18 games of this season.

I hope Wemby can get back without any further complications. New blood is always good for the league, it feels like we’re going through some Lebron, Curry, Durant fatigue of sorts.

I heard Brandon Ingram had a similar shoulder issue to Wemby and he recovered. Hope Wemby recovers fully for next season.

Blood clots ended Chris Bosh’s career early when he was still playing at a high level. Scary.

I think the NBA all star game should copy hockey / golf Ryder Cup and try a US vs international game. It’s worth noting that all NBA is what matters for contract status, not all star appearances.
