DTM, i finally went and hit the main air into death chute today because of your video. Ive wanted that for years and been trying to talk myself into it for weeks, so thanks for posting the stoke. Every good regional thread has someone keeping the shredding front and centered and thats you these days

Loving the videos by this season's king of stoke, DTM. Very entertaining, thanks!

(This should have quoted DTM - the forum is being weird).
Inspiring footage, DTM - nice work!
I was in SLC last week and skied Alta Fri/Sat - incredible conditions. After my broken arm last year, I certainly wasn't hucking anything like you, but with so much of that fluffy white stuff, I can at least start imagining possibilities for next time.

Puckered after four great days! Let the morning red snakes subside and skied to the bell Fri - Mon. Last tracks were best tracks most days. Paid the price with the evening snake but nothing a few cold ones couldn’t remedy! Great to be over the hundred” base mark- good to go!

ALTA skied pretty much perfect today. Skied untracked in Catherine's and High Boy and Eagle's Nest just don't get much better.

Sillytude was great if you knew where to hike yesterday. IKON always eating up the low hanging fruit. Moreover, the way they opened the gates or spun the lifts was in the manner where it was successive opens. i.e. open something up, ikon mobs, wait an hour, open something else, ikon mobs again.

Also Dibs, sad to see the tree budda-less. What gives ?

I skied Solitude Sunday and Snowbird on Monday. Great snow and all but I think you all are crazy for what you choose to deal with on busy weekends, ha.

ditched LCC for Snowbasin today... stole some of their shin deep POW turns across some various wooded areas. Some knee-deep stuff early in the day up higher too.Another great day to snag obvious lines people miss in the whiteout conditions up top.Kind of wanted to catch some gate openings, but they were bombing pretty hard still mid-day, so i just picked off pow lines till my legs burned like a doge audit!*keep it safe out there y'all, ski resorts the for another few days while the snowpack settles in

Bird was excellent today. No real lines, and untouched boot deep lines still to be had when I left at 1pm. Perfect density for jumping off shit once again.

Y’all should go ski Colorado or Tahoe (especially driving up from the Bay) on a busy powder weekend and get back to me if you think SLC is tough to deal with lol. Besides waking up early (5:30am) each day and waiting in the car for LCC to open Saturday, I really didn’t think it was that bad/busy/hectic. Had fresh snow pretty much all day every day, never waited in line more than 15ish minutes (besides one ill fated decision to get on the tram on Saturday at the bird, that was 45min-hour). Most lifts only 5-10min line. Same story solitude, snowbird, and snowbasin. Crowds and drive up/down were very reasonable. To be fair, didn’t bother with solitude sat/sun which I assume was busier.

7 days skiing in a row, couldn’t have asked for a better time. Deep snow (do the resorts always underreport or?), lot of great stuff to jump off, trees, chutes, steeps, tons of vert- Salt Lake has it made. Bummer none of the resorts opened up many/any of the steep bowl gates for the most part this week, but I get it, tough avy conditions to manage especially with on a holiday weekend. Tomorrow will be pretty sweet if they do.

Muggy, that post utterly fascinating explanation of the modern skier and his rationale. Thank you for that.

We can all agree it was a great skiing though - good times were had by everyone, and now everyone is gone, and back to powder, ski-on lifts and no traffic today.

    Offspring still rocks!

So true about the quality of relatively easily accessible skiing here that Muggy was talking about. This constant refill cycle has just been amazing after Fridays big dump, and even with the holiday crowds we have been able to find fresh decently deep turns every day since Saturday.

Holiday weekends back east are fucking treacherous with massive crowds in limited space, Colorado with the exception of Aspen in my experience can be even worse. As someone who has been traveling to ski here for a while, I totally get why the local crew is sick and tired of the traffic BS, we used to stay in the valley and have very few issues picking a hill in the AM and just driving up. Even from a visitors perspective, it's massively different now. But it's still better snow in amazing terrain that's still easier to access than a lot of places in the US.

Tl;Dr.... Been a fantastic few days riding fresh snow , stoke is high here .

Nobody skied today? I drove by the mouth of BCC at 8:45am and the traffic looked as bad as any powder weekend. Probably some of us were in that line?

Powder Mountain was good today - sorry for the same pic over and over but the stoke gods on this forum get angry with me and need to eat
