Everyone is judged by the company they keep/agree with. Here is what happened: Byates and I developed a bit of a weird feud online I guess. Maybe the BTC thread, maybe something else. What really sucks is we never met but he did PM me and invite me to lunch last summer. I don't check my PMs much and missed it so maybe he took offense. . Anyway, we got into it in the Annex Canada thread and I trolled him and kind of backed him into posting some stupid shit including my name (this was in a since deleted thread in pollyass) and he got a temp. ban. . I am really disappointed that he took it this hard/far. I keep thinking I should text him but that might make it worse. . Anyway, just lighten the fuck up and that goes for everyone. It is just an internet forum. That is the story.

Ah well, I'm now making plans to be in Truckee that week. I imagine we would have gotten a decent showing, like the dozen or so that came out last year, with BY once again doing full MC and grillmaster duties, but I'm not seeing so much commitment that this is likely to come together otherwise. It's encouraging to see Tgapp's yurt trip offer, and the Beaver trip that worked out great last year lives on as an example of the group stoke that can be thrown together with a spark of inspiration and modest effort.
